    "Transformers Generations 2009"
updated and expanded version of former catalog "Transformers Generations".
consists of 3 books: vol.1 is out in Feb.16.
according to Autobase, vol.2 is planning in April, vol.3 in June.

and, there's (probably "purchase of proof" type) book-exclusive item.

Oh MY. I have the original Generations Deluxe book, but if they were simply to reprint that as Vol 1, and then, say, cover BW and BM in Vol 2, and the Unicron Trilogy in Vol 3...? Oh MY YES.

Although I have the sensation I'm not going to be that lucky. :)

Advert for the book at this weekend's Super Festival 48.

EDIT: From the little Japanese I can read, the flyer mentions that the exclusive (proof of purchase mail away?) has been decided. I wonder if it refers to the GT-R Convoy in the background.

Exclusive Alternity Black Convoy anyone? :)

I think it is more likely is they'll go by decades. Three volumes for a line spanning three decades seems to fit.

Volume 1 - Generation 1 through to the end of the line in 1992.

Volume 2 - Generation 2 through the Beast Wars series and Beast Machines, logically, Beast Wars Returns as well even though it's a 21st century series.

Volume 3 - Car Robots through Micron Legend, the Movie, Henkei / Classics, and even Animated up to date. Given the publication date I'd imagine they'll unveil the Revenge of the Fallen Japanese line in there too.

The image looks like a black and white image of the red Alternity Convoy to me, since the hood looks grey compared to the grill below.

But... since I'm rarely right in these matters, it probably is Alternity Black Convoy.

Yes it is indeed the vibrant red version of GT-R Convoy in the pic.

If my speculation that a black version (or some other color variant) being an exclusive is right (which it might not), then they are just using a b/w pic of it to show that one is in the pipeline. They probably don't have an actual sample to show yet.

It's all just speculation in the end, so do take it with a pinch of salt.

Interesting; I've been looking, on & off, for the Generations Deluxe book as a reference book, but may just wait on these, especially if they run up to 2008 or 9.

Black Alternity Convoy would be a pretty cool "proof of purchase" :)

Have the original, but wanted the deluxe version. I'll have to wait and see if this seems like a significant upgrade.

Will definetely be looking into this. I have the original Generations book so depending on how nice the G1/G2 sections are I would probably pass on the early books depending on the breakdown. Any expanded coverage beyond G2 though and I'll be picking these up for sure :D

I refer to my Generations all the time, new editions are very welcome.

I'd like to see packaging pics, and (dreaming) an English language version as updates, but I'd expect straight reprints.

Saying that, I'll buy pretty much any TF book, which reminds me, need to go send an email.
