Like mortal kombat or mvc3
I don't see it working. Unless it's 8-bit TFs are way too blocky to be able to do the kinds of things required for characters to do in fighting games.
If you can't transform what is the point? Yeah, I am talking to you ROTF Wii game.
Me and my friend played this when we were kids. Only TF fighting game I can think of but I wouldn't be put off to the idea of a new one. I LOVED playing as Tarantulas.

Primus5289, why is your signature so big?
I would love a TF fighting game. It's really the only game genre I like to play. The characters would definitely need finishing moves, though. Not necessarily fatalities, but some sort of finishing moves.
Regarding a fighting game's finishing moves, we could have a mechanic similar to the Final Smash in Super Smash Bros Brawl, where the character obtains a super attack via some means.
If we take the Transformers Prime continuity, for example, a Megatron Final Smash could involve using Dark Energon to go into an awesome berserker mode. A sure-fire way of decimating the opposition.
To be honest, I'd absolutely adore a Transformers/Smash Bros mix. I love both these franchises
I've been thinking this would rock ever since I played the original MK back in 1992. I even went as far as to come up with various special and finishing moves (this was based on G1 obviously, BW wasn't even out yet).
