okay i know alot of people watch "the Big bang theory" and i was wondering what would you think if they introduced a transformers fan? i mean they're all already super hero geeks anyway, why not introduce a transformers one? just an idea.

That would be awesome. Considering how many references to that kind of stuff is in the show, I was disappointed there were barely any transformer ones.

    I wouldn't like it.
Though my opinion may be biased given that I hold nothing but contempt and ire for Big Bang Theory.

Only my sister watches that show, but if they do, I would watch that episode.

In general, I like it when non-transformers shows reference transformers in a joke. I usually get a good laugh. Like in Family Guy and American Dad.

:lol  I love the transformers references in Family Guy, usually because Frank Welker actually plays Megatron, which is fantastic. I also agree with you in that I was surpried that there weren't TF references in the show already...I don't know whether he would or not, but I would love to see Cullen have a small cameo in the episode....kind of like when Stan Lee was in it

I prefer when TV characters spout encyclopedic knowledge on subjects where I don't have encyclopedic knowledge of my own, so I won't feel like nitpicking the flaws. ;)

    True.

I sometimes hate myself for nitpicking while I should just enjoy the funnyness of a show :)

    Hahah, so true.

Although at the same time, I like hearing Yugioh & TF references now & then because it's just another way of combining fandoms. Like, I'm still tempted to buy a cheap superhero crossover (Hulk or Captain America seem doable) for the sake of making a John Cena custom.

I'd like some references and jokes made about Transformers but I don't think I'd want a Transformers fan character to appear as he/she/TF would probably get trashed by smug comments made by the main cast.

Besides, the Big Bang characters aren't cool enough to be into Transformers. Although I'd happily 'Big Bang' Kaley Cuoco if given half a chance.

This. And what do you mean by 'barely any'? Do you mean there are a few or are there none? (I just recently got into this show, and I enjoy it).

I just started watching this on TBS the other day. I don't think it is too bad. However, they're never going to introduce a new character that is exclusively a transformers fan. Have you honestly met ANYONE that knows all about transformers but nothing else? If anything, I would enjoy seeing them reference transformers. Actually, I'm quite surprised they haven't quoted Optimus Prime so far.

But then again, the writers haven't really dug too far into the geek culture they write about. It would also help if the actual actors knew what the hell they were talking about.

I think there was only one reference to a transformer in one episode.

I wouldn't like it. Usually when a mainstream show tries to reference some niche interest, they get it horribly wrong and I end up with that awful secondhand embarrassment feeling. And that's assuming they're not outright ridiculing it, which happens a lot too.

I havent watched ALL episodes but I do remember Howard saying he wants a gal like Megan Fox from "Transformers".

Hm..I dont know if introducing a tf fan is a good idea but some Tf joke wouldnt be bad. ^^

I just figured that the characters were probably already supposed to be Transformers fans.

Well duh. I mean who wouldn't. Isn't that the point of the title of the show, with the double meaning?
