On Gameinformer there is a new Escalation mode video with Megatron and Starscream gameplay, and showing weapon upgrades and such. Here's the link: See Fall Of Cybertron High Moon Studios swung by the Game Informer offices recently to show off the latest build of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. We grabbed game director Matt Tieger and hustled him away into our video recording booth, where we talked with him about the return of the popular Escalation cooperative multiplayer mode, and changes to the system that have occurred since the last game in the series. As he answered our questions, we were also allowed to wander through the new Escalation maps. In a real game, we’d have four players working side by side to confront the enemy bots. However, our single player exploration of the mode offers a good idea of what the maps and gameplay will be like in the final version.
So it sounds like Megatron has the same VA as in the first game... Shame... tbh they should have gotten Welker to be Megs, and Blum to do Starscream. (He's the narrator in WfC, so they probably could've hired him to do it...)
Yeah but then Fred Tatasciore and Sam Riegal would lose their roles, besides I still don't buy that WFC/FOC and Prime are the same continuity so it doesn't matter to me.
I do agree with you on that. Do Sam Riegal too has charm since he's sounds like Viral from Gurren Lagann.
It kinda seems like voice acting is the weak link in both games so far. I don't get why they go the extra mile to get the original VOs for Prime and Grimlock, but everyone else is so generic. Megatron just sounds like "bland angry bad guy"! And considering his VA did a pretty bang up job as Saren in Mass Effect, he's shown he's more than capable of doing like, cool and calculating. Or at least not generic and bland. And Starscream makes even less sense. They have Blum as the narrator, like you said. Why not just get him for another role? You'd think if they're trying to align this with Transformers Prime, one of the best ways to do that is to make sure the principle characters sound at least kinda similar.
Indeed... though apparently they also added a suitable Jazz impersonation (the original VA's long since passed) and I could've sworn there was a video with a Perceptor sound bite that sounded like Paul Eiding.
