Maybe, however he doesn't have to kill every single one. Just find one and kill it then Nexus can never reform and he's essentially removed from the equation. If Solus still rebuffs him then I would consider killing her a logical course of action.

Another thing the book mentions that interests me. Is this the first time Shifters have been referred to as a type of TF?

lol, a spoiler tag in a thread labeled "spoilers" feels redundant =P

but yeah, 3rd Parties may be the only way to get the 13... My wallet just shuddered in anticipation.

I somehow find it unlikely that the 13 will never get toys. They might not all get them but sooner or later some of them will get released.

    1. Why would it be movie? 2. Why is this even in spoiler tags?

Well, it's kind of a spoiler for a something not 100% related to this thread; a different tangent so to speak.

    The latter

Megatronus was so angered by Solus' rejection that he took her life? Or he couldn't stand to see her with anyone else.

Not sure about dialects, but it is a possibility. The later pages are written in future languages, just like it was in Beast Wars.

It doesn't say why the Fallen killed her instead of Nexus. And in Exiles, Nexus's component parts are only scattered across one universe, instead of the multiverse.

Each continuity the Fallen has different motivations. In G1-verses its because his job made it easier for him to be tempted by Unicron, in the Filmverse its his lust for power and for revenge.

There is that perceived betrayal aspect here only with a woman instead of brothers. We don't know if the Fallen ever cast his lot with Unicron.

Though if we go by Prime all of the 13 defeated Unicron. Unlike in G1 Fallen where his betrayal did lead to causalities in the 13 and Primus had to exile him along with Unicron.

Exodus does mention the Fallen's refusal to bow down to others in the 13 and carve his own destiny. Solus Prime being the artifact maker could be one contributing motive.

So what does it say about Slipstream? Is she a prominent character, or is her name simply dropped a few times throughout the novel?

Slipstream appears on the Nemesis, and makes a few Sarcastic remarks. During the final battle on Junkion, she fights Optimus on the hull of the nemesis and gets herself knocked out. Megs sees her float past the viewports of the nemesis, and says there is no time to pick her up "She can go and become Junkion for all I care." It is unclear what happened to her after that, but I'm guessing starscream fished her out before the Nemesis space bridged out. Otherwise she's just been left there to float through space after Junkion blew up.

So... is it any good? I didn't read the first novel because I have an aversion to media tie-in novels. They almost always suck. Seriously, apart from a couple SW extended universe novels, no tie-in novel has ever made me go, "Wow, that was an awesome read!"

So: is it worth reading, and is it worth reading the first book too? (And way off topic, but has anyone read the Mass Effect tie-in books, and are they worth reading?)

The Mass Effect novels have decent world-building, but I would not recommend them. They are stale with flat characters. Karpyshyn is not a personable writer.

You would be better off reading the wiki for the essential facts.

I have a theory about the 12 primes and the death of solus... And the killer isn't who you think, or even whom Megatronus thinks.
