I thought as much. They should have tried to release Live Free or Die Hard during the Christmas movie season, I think it would have fared better than going up against all the movies that are coming out this summer.

a Diehard sequel shouldnt have been made to begin with. Did we really think that a better sidekick that Sam Jackson would be that kid from Jeepers Creepers?

The previous Die Hards never did break 100 million in the box office domestically.

Bah, it's just numbers. We know the movie is good, we know a 2nd one is coming, that's all that matters.

Somebody else posted this thought already, but I think it will be NEXT weekend that will say a lot about the staying power of Transformers (Potter's second weekend, TF's third). If it remains a strong contender through the first part of August, the final numbers are going to be massive.

And FWIW, everywhere I go--the grocery store, the post office, work--people are talking about the Transformers movie. Word of mouth is really positive, which is a good sign.

I'm LOVING it when I hear people say, "Did you even know Transformers were still around?"
    :lol

well Transformers has been out for a week and a little bit more. So I think it did better than the HP.

It's ok, Optimus Prime can still beat Harry Potter in a fight.

LOL! This reminds me of when I was a kid, my sister and I would have "wars" between my Transformers and
her My-Little-Ponies. She always argued the Ponies would win because they had magic. I always argued the
Transformers would win because they had BIGGER GUNS! (and could step on the Ponies) :ev:

I'll definitely go see Harry Potter, but probably not 4 times like I did for Transformers. I may even see TF
    again.

I knew Potter would bring in some cash. We went to see Transformers again yesterday and it wasn't very crowded. But the movie has already made what it needed to be considered a success IMO and I am sure it still has some life left after the Potter hype slows down.
