Outside of Mini-cons, which are apparently back to being called MicroMasters, what creative opportunities did that trilogy bring that has stuck around?

The only recent influences from modern media over the overall Transformers mythology remain the IDW comics and the movies.

Beast Wars and the Marvel UK comic (the later of which had a fraction of the global audience as the UT and still remains the larger influence - - even on the UT itself) are still influential decades later.

 

Yeah seeing these designs makes it even more frustrating that the toys for them are so poor. While they're definitely G1 derivative, at the same time I really appreciate the fresh twist they tried to put on it, like beefcake Hound and Wheeljack with clear bits all over. Good stuff.

 

@SilverOptimus Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t there a leak a few months ago that predicated Soundwave and Barricade for Cyberverse?

seriously they got every major character except for Jazz and Ironhide.

Also why does Barricade look so bad? Sorry for the people that like him, but he looks just like TLK Barricade (and almost everyone prefers the look of 2007-2011 Barricade way more).

 

And why is Windblade suddenly in everything now? Like what has she done or been in besides being force fed to us in literally everything? I don't necessarily have anything against her, but she's gotten like 5 figures in the past four years while more significant characters haven't gotten anything. She might be an okay character, but she is definitely not a priority over Jazz, Ironhide, or even Arcee.

Look man I don’t give a shit if I’m wrong. Your words mean nothing to me. I give an opinion in saying they need to create a new and exciting theme/line that isn’t some bullshit remake of g1 as I’m getting a bit fucking tired and have no hope in their shows.

I believe it is referring to the style/design of the characters. They were definitely more willing to make characters look different than their G1 counterparts than this.

YESI I love these to bits, especially Soundwave and Hound. If someone makes a series of these as worthy toys (I.e not the cyberverse gimmick crap) I will be all over it.

Yeah that as well. Also it’s the same fucking characters. Bumblebee, Optimus, megatron. I need other people. Windblade can stay as unlike some people I don’t think she’s the scum of the earth and should die in a fire. She’s hot, cool and interesting. You guys need to fucking chill. Interesting designs. I'd be curious to see how they turn out in hand. I assume these will be made into toys, right?

 

So, design-wise it's a G1 foundation, but with a more modern take; I can dig that.
Also, it's nice to see more characters are potentially on the show.
