Good news to hear though! I'm not sure it'll pass the billion mark at this point, but I'll be watching patiently!

Also, I love when people bring up attendance. "DOTM has less attendance than ROTF at this point". So? Money is the only thing that talks. I'm sure Pirates 4 had less attendance than At Worlds End. Websites like Boxofficemojo used to use that one loads when it first came out. Funny how ever since breaking a billion you don't hear that anymore.

Not only did it stay #1 this week but it has now surpassed Hangover Part II as the highest grossing movie this year domestically. Also it's decline this week of 52% is better than the second week of ROTF, 61%, but the first movie had less of a decline at 47 % (figures for the first two movies are from an article from Box Office Mojo on July 6 2009). Hopefully it will make it to a billion dollars but even if it doesn't this is still good news.

Well next week we'll see just how big of a decline it takes due to Harry Potter.

Still, glad it was able to stay on top.

I noticed alot of foreign Income has not come in yet.

Italia for example had a NA and few other also.

I think we will top ROTF by the end.

It also did exceedingly well in Korea for the second straight weekend. 52% of the Korean audience saw it this weekend, everything else was like teens percentage.

I think once it debuts in Japan it will be the thing to really knock this film out of the park.

Don't forget China. Both Japan and China should add a fair amount to the total.

It doesn't matter how many people saw it or that it made more cuz tickets cost more for 3D what matters is each dollar and that's how success is measured

    Slag yeah!!!

It's awesome to see how well this film's been doing at the box office - and with some international markets not even opening it yet, too.

And as far as the competition with Harry Potter thing, I'm actually not too worried if Dark of the Moon declines thanks to it. It's already made more than three times its budget in box office sales, enabling the trilogy to reach more than $2 billion in sales. It's already a big box office success, and that's what I'm happy to hear about. : )
