Probably will end up picking up the combo pack that comes with the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy since those are usually a good deal even if you don't have a 3D HDTV now if will be good to have a copy once I do get a 3D HDTV later on.

If I buy the Blu-Ray 3D, would I be able to switch it to 2D?

I don't think so. The video is encoded onto the blu-ray disk in 3d and so has to be displayed as such.

However, at the same time, when you buy a 3d blu-ray new, it seems common that the 2d version is included in the package. You still pay an extra 5-10$ to get both, but you get both. I don't think there is a strictly 3d version only available though.

    2 pack DVD master race

I always like buying DVDs/Blu-Ray/Whatever for commentary.

I plan to purchase a combo pack containing at least the 3D and 2D versions - we have a 3D 47" Sony that is itching for some usage.

I want to see an extended edition in Blu-Ray 3D with normal 2D Blu-Ray and Digital Copy included. DVD's can go to Hell for all I care.

Isn't it usually October when these come out? I wonder why this one is later? I'm getting the Blu-Ray version for sure.

Not likely getting any. I have a friend who will get which ever Combo pack has the best exclusive, though, & I will watch his.

IF I like DotM enough, it MIGHT force me to get all 3 on DVD... when I have money. I've not been a fan of how the movies have turned out (which kinda surprises me), but if I like one enough to get, I am the kind of person who prefers to have complete sets of things.

2 days before my B-day. I knew it would be 5-6 months after the cinema.

    I'll buy the special edition and 3D blu-ray for if I get blu-ray or a 3D TV.

Other movies have been released in 3D before and didn't require a 3d tv..... so does DOTM need one for the blu-ray 3D version?
