The market for an actual action cartoon show is minimal in the US, nonexistent in Japan. If you want that, just hold out for the new theatrical CG movie in a year or two.

    Looking forward to this series.

You mean like Voltron on Netflix? Or Korra/Last Airbender? Or the CG TMNT that audiences loved so much? Or Star Wars Rebels? Or Ben 10? Or Justice League? Or Spiderman? Or Avengers Assemble? Or Dragon Ball Supers over in Japan and America? Or countless other praised series from Japan like the Fate/Stay series?

Senseless violence is senseless violence. All good action shows are story driven and character building. Even the best of the 80s action toon genre were that way.

Sounds like it\'ll be even more directed at kids than RID was. Which is good for them, but I probably won\'t be watching it. Wouldn\'t mind a YA+ Transformers series myself, but I guess there is the Bumblebee movie coming up...

I will give this series an opportunity. Interesting choice to run only for 10 minutes.

11 minutes per episode means they can package 2 stories as one standard 22 minute episode to networks. It means shorter seasons but more episodes like with Adventure Time or Steven Universe.

so how is this gonna air? one 11 minute episode a time or are they gonna double up to fill a half hour time slot? i mean with the episode count of RBA i can\'t see them doing those shows back to back

and WHERE is this supposed to air?

Cyberverse is 2018 while RBA is 2019, so I don't think there'll be much overlapping.

Rumor (take it with a grain of salt): To be aired on Disney Channel or DisneyXD. Rumor only. Please don't eat my head if the decision changes.

    I'm down.

Also, this new image is nothing new, it's just the same character shots we've seen of Bee and (hi I'm) Windblade put in the same frame.

I am actually pretty hopeful with the change to an 11 minute episodes. Usually (unless the show is supposed to be mindless drivel) i've noticed that the shorter run time tends to promote better storytelling in shows that are primarily story driven like Cyberverse seems to be. Adventure Time, Star vs The Forces of Evil, Steven Universe off the top of my head as examples. Obviously all of those have their flaws and strengths, but they all use the 11 minutes format to tell pretty complex stories sometimes and it pays off well most of the time.

obviously we'll have to wait and see how things go but honestly the change to the 11 minutes to me potentially feels like a step in the right direction.

also just as a note, do we know if the 18 episode count is the number of production episodes or 11 minutes episodes themselves? even with this new 11 minutes format cartoons still tend to follow the 22 minutes format when in production and when things are being paid for and such. Essentially this means that 18 22 minutes episodes were ordered, but because of the 11 minutes format it would would double it and we would be getting 36, 11 minutes segments.

Edit: the rumor about the show being on Disney XD REINFORCES everything i just said as its almost exclusively how disney XD seems to operate anymore. better storytelling and more episodes due to how production works. then again it is still boulder media making the show, and we have seen their track record so who knows.
