I don't know when I would ever wear them. Where are the G1 logo? I only see the the happy movie design.
Ive seen stuff like this on ebay. I highly doubt they are licensed. (so what) somebody somewhere will buy this. I probably would look at some TF cufflinks if I ever wore suits, but they would need to be the orig logos not the movie style.
I've seen these on Ebay, ranging into the hundreds of dollars. My fiancee said I can get some for our wedding, but I want to get a pair of Autobot ones in silver, but every time I look, it's either a mixed pair (Autobot/Decepticon), two Decepticons, or they're in gold.
If they had black instead of red lining, those would look really nice. its sort of forgivable to not have them be in the traditional colors, given that it would really clash with the suit aesthetic. Heck, the red lining sticks out like a sore thumb as it is (unless you had a red suit- Spy in our midst!)
These are pretty cool looking, but other than the regular-tux-wearing superspies among us Transfans... is there really a market for these? I kind of hope so for the seller's sake.
Damn. Sold out. I would buy these to wear at my job at the movie theatre. Edit: Anyone know what the price was?
Well, I checked pretty much as soon as this thread was posted and there was only 1 set in stock. Not sure selling out is a good gauge on popularity, so you can stick with your previous position. (Although I did check some random items and they were all in stock with 1 unit; perhaps the seller just lists one at a time?) It was $20.
I just did a general search and there's like 30 things. I even saw a silver Autobot set that someone mentioned they wanted earlier. $22 shipped and he had our. I don't know where some people are getting off selling em for $189, unless its 925 silver. Transformers Cufflinks, Jewelry Watches, Clothing, Shoes Accessories items on eBay.com ~Z
Only one set is sold out. There are two other sets currently available as I explained in this post yesterday: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...make-transformers-cuff-links.html#post3280823 And it didn't seem newsworthy to me at all, especially when it's doubtful that these are officially licensed products.
These are pretty interesting: silver cuff links. Who could that be modeled after? Sort of looks like Nightgeat without his antennas.
Your fiancee must be very understanding. I'm no Dr. Phil, but I would not recommend wearing these to your wedding unless it has some special significance to the both of you. Just my opinion. I agree, I'd like something more inconspicuous
2 things wrong IMHO: 1. Red for Decepticon? 2. Movie-style logo? (the original Decepticon logo is the coolest insignia ever devised for any group/company---making a MINOR change is truly pointless, and makes it less cool) If they'd have totally re-done the logos for the movies, at least it'd been worth their time and effort. But making such minor changes that I still can't see how the Autobot one is different? Pointless.
Yeah, first off, way to steal not-news from Tformers.com. I told them over THERE the same thing I'm telling you here NOW, 12 hours LATER. Enjoy that "news" credit. And second, this is not news. These things have been out on ebay for years, and they're half as cheap, shipped, than the ones on Etsy...which are obviously being resold by a wholesaler. C'mon now, people. At least pretend to care before you frontpage stuff.
