I have a question about the Transformers comics from the 80s.

My friend who doesn't like transformers at all happend to come accross an old Transformers comic from 83, issue number 4 he thinks. Unfortunatly the Transformers comics are the one area that I know nothing about. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me what just one of those comics would be worth?

    Thank You.

    Ebay:
I have been getting issues from local comic expos for a dollar or so a piece. Here lately, I have been seeing the higher numbered issued go for $5-25 or so each over at Lone Star Comics.

Yeah, the old Marvel G1 comics aren't worth that much. Issue 1 in my country costed me around USD15-20...if I remembered correctly.

The final four issues of the marvel run usually go for more than the first issues due to low production runs.

The early comics had some rare gems -- the end run was very good when Simon Furman linked the US comics to the UK comics with the whole Matrix Quest, Unicron, Action Masters etc arc.

The old UK comics were great too....especially when Furman was in charge.

Sadly, most of the Marvel TF comics run is worth about as much today as I originally paid for them 20 years ago.

It's pathetic. Even with all the movie hype, the price has only raised marginally.

And yet I still hang onto them. I have some obscurities too, like those bizarro TF 3D comics from Blackthorne, and a TF holiday-themed comic strip that appeared in in some women's magazine I read at the doctor's office back in the mid-80's (someday I'll get around to scanning it and posting it online). And perhaps someday I'll complete my UK collection.

Holy crap! I have two of those old 3-D Blackthorne comix! I love the issue #3!! Sooo kewl (oh by the way, Furman is telling a story in Escalation that matches those doomsday characters in #3. ahem ahem)

I love the page/scene where the massive Scorponok transforms and slams his claws on the ground beside Galvatron to show Galvatron who is the leader. Galvatron looks sooooo scared lol Best illustration! and in 3-D
