Wow, I got the package today and I must say I'm impressed by the box. They put in silica gel packets on the bottom. I just wish the instructions was as nice. The good thing about G1 toys is that they're fairly simple to figure out. I affectionately call them bricks with personality. I'm sure there's plenty of better pics out there but here's a size comparison pic.

I want to see more pics! More!

Anyways, good job so far, Sonscreen. I know it's pretty difficult to get back into the loop of things when you haven't logged in for awhile.

Nice! Maybe it's just the lighting, but that yellow doesn't look nearly as horrible as some of the early pics made it look.

Are there bio cards for the individual robots, or just Piranacon?

Ha! Those combining instructions are reprints of the G1 originals. Does he come with instructions for the individuals?

Either way, though, I can't wait for mine to get here!

No, I had to look at the box to get an idea on how to transform the little guys. There are some flubs on the box too. :dunce

Woohoo! Just got mine in the mail!

The box was packaged quite nicely, and arrived entirely undamaged:

The box itself is VERY sturdy and quite attractive:

Inside is the usual foam insert that holds the Seacons in place:

Each seacons had their accessories packaged indiviudally and stored in the lower right corner of the box:

Under that is the instructions for the combined mode (none for the individual bots) and tech spec cards for all 6 seacons as well as one for Piranacon.

The box itself has pictures of all of the figures on the sides (both sides have the same image):

The top has the same pics arranged horizontally:

And the bottom has the collector's club logo and other info with a close-up shot of Piranacon:

But enough about the box, onto the figures! The color scheme is VERY nice in person, the yellow isn't nearly as glaring as early pic suggested:

As for the figures themselves, they're very study, they don't feel like they cheaped out on the plastic or anything. The only (very minor) QC issues I have are a couple of looser joints (Snaptrap's legs and Skalor's waist. Not a problem individually, but it makes Skalor want to bend forward in Leg mode, and makes the whole robot fall over. I've already fixed the issue with some floor finish.) Overall though, they're excellent.

If you're on the fence, GET THEM! They're VERY nice, and according to Pete, they're almost gone, and sales have picked back up now that they're actually in stock.

    Great pics!

I got mine today, and he's excellent; I just need to take some nail polish to the accessory holes on all the small bots except for Tentakil. Seawing, for one, can't hold his joined venom lasers at all, and Overbite's hole is just as bad. Luckily, one of the five rifles from the weapon stands will stay put more or less.

I actually had to look up the Seacons' individual instructions to make sure I had t he weapon modes right... and to tell for sure which weapons were Skalor's and which were Tentakil's. :)

The colors are okay but I would have much preferred a straight reissue for this guy (maybe with updated paint apps like we have seen in the Encore line). I understand the set is exclusive, but I just can't justify the price.

    I found them here.

I've been playing with him, trying to find a configuration that works with Nautilator as the gun, but none of the others can hold him well as a gun - Skalor can if I turn the fist 90 degrees, but it looks bad. Any suggestions?

Well I own the original testshots from a few years back and based on the pictures, the only differences I can see is that the testshots didn't have Decepticon symbols on Seawing's wings, and Naughtilators beast head. Also the Piranicon head that came with the testshot has color changing paint on the lower crest/forehead so it changes from blue to purple. I can't tell in the pictures, if the release doesn't have the paint and it's just purple plastic, or it's just the lighting. It also looks like they never got around to adding a symbol to Tentikil, which is kinda disappointing(the testshot didn't have one either). Still looks great and can't wait to get mine.

Looks nice and all, but i can't help but prefer the original color scheme. This one looks all over place, not as uniform as the old one.

    Two shots of mine

Here are shots of the two configurations I use for mine:

I added Tentakil and Seawing's weapons to them for that little extra. :)  Skalor has to be the left leg in this mode or Piranacon keeps falling over. I kinda prefer this mode since Nautilator is supposed to be still a bit of a foul-up.

Here he is in "official" configuration. (The one the instructions specify)

I don't have the original (Encore! Encore!); but I've nothing against this color scheme, especially now that they're finally here. My favorite G1 toys have always been the Scramble City gestalts.
