I just saw that Revoltech is introducing transforming Macross figures into their line, I wonder if they have anything planned for Transformers. Would be interesting to have a competing line of transforming "Classics" style figures with super articulation.

    Thoughts? Or Wishlists?

They already have Revoltech Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Megatron, Rodimus and Starscream.

Not promoting Image Anime but here's a shot of them together http://www.imageanime.com/trre1.html

doubtful. the VF-1 has a pretty basic transformation, so it works. looking at the current revoltech TFs, there's no way they could get them to transform and still look good.

and I really don't think Takara and Hasbro would let Kaiyodo even attempt it.

Oh they wanna spend the coin on a license and it passes through quality control they'll let them do it.. but that is one hell of an expensive license and then an addition percentage on the back end for royalties.

Transformers is probably one of the cheaper licenses Kaiyodo has used in the Revoltech line. it definately couldnt approach the license fees for Evangelion or Macross.

I'm sure hasbro didnt charge them that much for the license originally. seems they formed a bit of a partnership, with modified revoltech joints showing up on the first movie's robot replica figures. the joints just had a ridge on the peg to make them stay in better.

I'd be willing to bet it was a bit more than most people think - depending on which line they're using - I know - I'm going through the process now - and I know what I am going to pay... but - you could be right on the partnership thing. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a back-end deal.

FYI, the macross transformable variable fighter revoltech is a parts-former, so I guess if they do transformers in similar way, we all gonna raise torches and pitchfork at Kaiyodo :p

I just want them to make more Transformer Revoltechs, I don't care if they transform.

Bummer about the head, but I bet you could leave the fist hands in if you didn't mind them showing. Do you have a link to that info? I've been trying to find more on these things in the past couple days but haven't come across much.

As far as Transformers with simple enough transformations to pull this off....

Jetfire (at the very least a repaint of the Valkyrie VF-1s)
    Optimus Primal
    Galvatron
Moon from Beast Wars 2 (how messed up would that be?)

    Any other ideas?
