I was looking for a reason to skip this movie but this article just might be it.

 

I hope it is like this

 

Hearing the G1 praise from the interview isn't making me feel any better about the G1 only direction the franchise is going for. I'm sure Knight will give us a wonderfully written movie since I love Kubo and the Two Strings but I hope he understands that there's more to Transformers then just G1 and that not everyone has a connection and love to it as he and others do.

If that’s the case it doesn’t translate very well. I still love it, it’s miles better than the triangles pointing to the center of the head type design that most cons had in the bay films.

 

And then again, it won't confirm that this movie is a complete reboot unless we watched it.

I just cannot resist but i see you EVERY TIME on post where someone praises or mentions G1 in movie threads you get so mad and you take it so personal, but instead of insulting wich is what your mindset wants the most. (even though you don't do it for obvious reasons)


I'll just say:


Get over it, G1 is what the people will like. lol

Creativity? really? What's next? Ghostbusters 2016 was such an innovative take?


Heck, i like some Bay designs BETTER than most of g1 characters, yet i recognize they were badly used.

Considering the franchise has had zero to do with G1 after FIVE FUCKING FILMS...I think the direction is fine. Knight is being more respectful to the source material just in TRAILERS than all the bay films combined.

 

I always thought Primes design was the best in G1, unironically

DOTM's plot was based off of two G1 episodes with most of the designs evoking the G1 designs like Optimus and Jazz throughout the movie series. Also again Transformers is more then G1 because does that mean you think the other Non G1 series are disrespectful to the source material too because they too don't follow G1 much if at all?

 

The one reason the G1 Praise isn't giving everyone the jitters is because at least Knight loves SOME aspect of the franchise. Unlike Bay who went from full fledged hatred of the line to working on it to flat-out mocking fans for what they like. Knight's starting from a good place, even if it's not your particular favorite part of the franchise. Love translates into good characters and good story. And that should be something we all want to see.

But how we do know Knight won't may end up just flat out taking a dump on the other TF series because they're not G1? I'm not saying that's the case but he never said anything positive about the non G1 series and their fans either. I'm just pointing out the possibility that Travis could have a hate on for the non G1 series and could look for ways to take a dump at them while also posing as someone who cares for the brand. Negative as they were Bay was at least honest about his views on the brand.

 

Hmmm... As a kid, I always wondered why my Megatron always looked like he was smiling after playing with him. Thought it was my imagination.

Any chance this means we'll get G1 Prowl, Smokescreen, or Bluestreak? (!!!!)
