Wow. 4x what it cost to make.
awesome news. I don't think many people thought it would do even this well. and Bay's lauaghing to himself saying "I told you so."
the sequel will probably have an outrageous budget and will be so much bigger than this one. everyone's going to want a piece of the pie next time, so here's hoping our 'little engine that could' hobby doesn't get too commercialized and goes down the crapper.
I forgot my friend logged on to his account on my computer. that post by LatinJEM should actually be by me... so... cool.
Awesome news! Way to go Transformers! Now, can we please bring on the Dinobots for TF2 already?! Me, Grimlock, want sequel!
Soundwave. Need I say more?
That would currently put it around #36 in the all-time box office chart then, making it Michael Bay's most successful movie ever, topping Armageddon.
let the sequal ranters....
let the sequal ranters begin on how tf 2 will suck .
On your marks... get set... BITCH!
And this movie deserves every penny.
Transformers will easily knock off Pirates as the number 3 film for this year, probably in another 2 and a half weeks. It should give Shrek a run for its money, but I figure it will fall short and settle around $315 Million or so.
Conceptron is waaaay ahead of you.
Way to go Transformers! Though I'm surprsied that the rest of the world raked in as much as the US alone. A lot of people were saying to wait for Japan and other countries to come in and give it an equal shot in the arm. Oh well, it doesn't bother me. For a franchise that hasn't been as popular as most would think 600MILL is VERY good. Transformers is a great concept, it's brought me back to the fold and having fun with it again. Transformers rocks!
I wonder what kind of shot in the arm it would be if we all went to see it one more time? (not that most of us haven't see it a bunch of times anyway)
But it is good to see the film doing well. It should also be pointed out that Spider-man 3 is still making money despite being out for 3 months. So who's to say where Transformers will be at it's 3 month mark.
Awesome. Is this the point where people finally stop making things up that could have soaked up the budget by over the amount publicized as the film's cost? I think we broke the bank, and there's no longer a dispute.
It sucks that they've started pulling it from theaters around here. I want to see it twice more, but there's only two screenings a day left. I'm thinking I may have to do a Saturday night viewing, which is my least favorite time to go to a movie.
Fuck it, bring on 40 on each side! Dang this is crazy! So where is on an all-time scale? The movie was great but great movies don't do this well!
Daman that sucks! That actually makes no sense at all!
Considering that they are doing for gems like Bratz, Chuck and Larry, and Rush Hour 3, it really doesn't make alot of sense.....
