UPDATE 1-'Transformers' beats targets with $201 mln debut | Markets | Markets News | Reuters
these are early estimatees, sometimes they just adjust the total the next day by 1 million or less
DAYAM! I was hoping it would beat Dark Knight and set a new record
I'm praying by tomorrow morning, it makes the extra $2 million than the projected figure just to top TDK. Though, will still be happy with the current mind-blowing amount. Never really expected it, despite how badly panned it was compared to the first film.
My bro' just saw the Hangover this afternoon and mentioned that there were lines waiting for ROTF. So, here's hoping.
There will still be lines for it next weekend for sure
it is possible that the death of michael Jackson had impact on the numbers. It may have decreased the amount of people seeing the movie.
im not suprised that the number of women attending increased; after the first alot of my female friends were just blown away from it. they loved Shia and those that had children loved it too.
Can someone combine this thread with the Original thread that has started already?
yeah, it made me cry and think of staying in a fetal position all day and doing nothing...WHATEVER!
They usually do miscalculate by 2 to 3 million, so I hope that we get enough to beat TDK record.
It would be so awesome for critics to see that a movie they thought was horrible could beat a movie they thought was great.
It's a shame there is no way to proove that 91% positive exit polling. It would put an end to the 'negative word of mouth' argument going around. 9% not liking the film is hardly negative.
Are they referring to ROTF or TDK here? If its TDK, what's in first?
Regardless, this is still a huge deal.
What about Billy mays he died to
Keep in mind exit polling was mostly done on TF fans - a biased sample.
I don't think so
it would be directly opposite seeing how the die hard fan are hugely negative in this regard, see this forum for example.
According to: Box Office Mojo
The movie has broke the $200 million mark in the first five day opening. It is third behind Up and Star Trek for the top grossing flick of this year. If there are a continuation of these strong numbers in the next week or two, perhaps the flick will be the top dog of the year.
Worldwide: $387,346,000 my reply:WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The exiting polls are conducted at random. I know, because I've helped conduct a few before. So it has nothing to do with fans.
A buddy of mine works at a local theater, and has told me that the film has been doing a fine job of entertaining all of the crowds that have been in there.
holy shit lol, this movie is killing it, its allready made its money back as well as some profit, wow, just wow
The weekend is not over yet. Monday is when we get the hard numbers. ROTF will be top dog by next week.
