    Tranformers getting bad reviews, beating Ice Age at the box office, and still the reigning champion... All is as it should be.

    It's possible but not probable. Bruno is only opening in roughly 2700 theaters. Transformers and Ice age are still showing in over 4000 theaters.

    Plus Bruno doesn't have the wide appeal that Transformers and Ice Age do.

    I'm just talking about weekend-to-weekend, not the regular weekdays in between so that wouldn't include midnight showings in the falloff.

    I'm interested to see what the box office take is this weekend since I didn't know Bruno was opening in such a small number of theaters (still a wide release, but not as big as I was expecting).

    What happened to Public Enemies?

    Has everybody forgotten how Michael Mann and his so real, well thought out, filled with a thick story, great acting and all that crititcs love in a movie was supposed to take out TFs?

    Seems it even got beat by Ice Age 3.

    Really though you used to read or hear how PE would come out and TFs would TANK.

    So what happened?

    Public Enemies 'R' rating hurt in somewhat, and there wasn't nearly as much marketing for it as the top 2 box office films this weekend. Critics' reviews haven't all been kind, with some calling it much more of a contemplative, piece than the more action-oriented film the trailer promises. I still haven't seen it yet, though. Also, lots of families were spending 4th of July together, meaning Ice Age or TF. Plus...no Chuck D or Flava Flav in Public Enemies = FAIL.
