transformers new 20180201
I’d say it looks nice, but uh...
Our prediction is coming true. Evergreen line is getting a Generations release it seems.
Transformers: Evergreen Branding Expanded To Other Transformers Iterations - Transformers News - TFW2005
*Or* with Generations starting to do these themed sublines, Evergreen is going to turn into something more like old school Generations where the figures have no connection aside from being Transformers.
Especially worth nothing these are using packaging that matches the movie layout. So the other possibility is this will become a year round line, with waves getting filled with movie characters as needed.
Will these be similar to the nuRID toys in terms of engineering?
Evergreen this, Evergreen that... What's "Evergreen" exactly? A series? A comic?
So this is a deluxe
It's a Transformers toyline featuring recognizable "generic" designs.
Notable example being the recent Mattel Batman Evergreen toyline featuring Batman characters not associated with any movie, animated series or comic.
Evergreen is a branding term, basically meaning "this is the official generic design for these characters to be used from now on"
I still wish they would ditch the red and white packaging.
Great for kids I guess. But who cares about another Bee or Starscream.
This could always be like those larger simplified toys that didn't get much of a NA release outside of the theme parks.
Lead with the most recognizable 'flagship' characters, then introduce other less known characters into the mix.
Makes sense to me.
How is this news?
Maybe. But what's the point?
We already have a generations line.
New branding and new design.
With the lack of ‘Generations’ or any other additional logos, these look like they’ll be a separate generic line. It does sometimes feel like they’re spreading things very thinly; POTP, Studio Series, Cyberverse, Bumblebee Movie, Authentics, now these. Choice is good, but I can see that availability for each line’s going to vary from place to place. I do wonder if they should just concentrate on a couple of lines at a time and do them really well. Ten years ago there was just one major line going on at a time.
Please be a good looking Bumblebee toy, please be a good looking Bumblebee toy, please be a good looking Bumblebee toy. I know this isn't the 4" size one, but I hope this isn't the upscaled version either.
I can see the smaller ones and simplified versions being the 'discount' releases, with this series being for those collectors that like the designs but dislike the simplicity of the others.
really hoping these are different and better molds right now!
