Yeah, it's an old game, but we started a little discussion on another thread. So if you love or hated that game, sound off. I for one thought, and still do, that it is the best Transformer game out there (not saying much, but this includes the new Movie game).
The problem with the movie game is that the missions were not fun. Too much relying on a time limit to complete a mission, which in itself was not fun. In armada, you had the main mission, but ala (Zelda Light), you could go out and explore and find Minicons and extras, the former which actually helped your autobots a lot.
i think one thing that was missing form the armada game however was maybe some sort of different vehicle form a car... like a helicopter or plane. maybe some cities to stomp and destroy, damn. i wish someone would make that game.
I didn't like the game much, though my dad got it for $5. I just don't like how there aren't any humans in the game, and I don't like those kinds of games where you're the only person throughout most of it, which is why I stopped playing Metroid Prime Hunters
Besides "more playable Transformers", I still think the only thing missing from the Armada game was a city-type level with lots of flat, paved terrain. Most of the levels in the game were uneven and cluttered with rocks/trees/whathaveyou. Hell, the manual even says that Hot Shot's favored terrain is road, but there isn't much of that in the game. ...Okay, the game also needed the ability to re-battle Decepticons. Tidal Wave was the best fight. Otherwise, the game is awesome and still fun to play. I love to tool around and plow into Decepticlones.
It is one of my favourite games ever, it is also one of the games with the worst level ever devised in the history of gaming. Unicron
I liked it, but only 3 characters, wtf? Prime was too slow Hot Shot was too fast Red Alert was the only decent character being a good all rounder, and he's a freaking medic. The Armada game would've been perfect if they just added:- Autobot characters:- Blurr Scavenger/Hoist(/smokescreen) Decepticons:- Megatron Starscream Cyclonus Demolisher Thrust/Wheeljack/Sideways. Levels: A city level (Blurr/Wheeljack boss fight?) Desert Level (Demolisher/Scavenger boss fight?) Decepticon moon base (Sideways + Thrust boss fight?) Autobot HQ (Smokescreen/Hoist boss fight?) Extras: Replay boss fights Nitpicky I know, but I could have been a whole 200% of the awesome it was.
I loved the game but I have a severe dislike of the Decepticlones. They have huge numbers and they're actually decently powerful, I have more trouble against some of them than I do bosses.
loved loved loved this game. the snow levels reminded me of halo lol i can deal with the only three characters, but we all know we just played as prime all the time. The boss battles were way more intense than the movie one because they required more skill than, "oh is that an enemy i can just shoot or do i have to throw a car at him first?" The tidal wave fight is one of my favorite boss battles ever. And star scream was no slouch. The unicron battle was kind of eh, but id rather have one tacked on cybertron level than not fight unicron at all.
I would agree with you... nah.. I do agree with you, but if I could have a better game with three characters, I would take it over a crappy game with a lot of characters (ie. Transformers G1 in Japan, and the new Movie game). If Hasbro had given them the shot, Melbourne would have made all our wishes come true. Edit: oh and the Unicron level disappointed the crap out of me. I really expected to somehow fight the guy in Robot mode.
People can complain about Unicron all they want, it still cannot match how absurdly terrible the "exclusive" Cybertron levels are in the new movie game. The Armada game was Citizen Kane compared to Uwe Boll's Transformers the movie game.
