I recently got back into Transformers with Transformers Prime and i started collecting the figures, only missing Rachet, hard to find that little bastard...anyway i started watching Animated for the first time and after seeing some of the pictures of the figures in this forum i wanna collect them...
Now i know those figures are a little old but are they hard to get??
and which line shuould i go for? Deluxe or what is the best version that got release?
    thanks for the advice.

Generally, go for the best versions you can get your hands on. There weren't many characters released in multiple price points like with the movie. These are my suggestions for some of the ones that were available in multiple price points:

    Optimus - Voyager
    Megatron - Leader
Bumblebee - Deluxe or Activators. Jetpack will likely have you pay through the nose since it never got a NA release
    Bulkhead - Voyager or Leader
    Lockdown - Deluxe

Do note that if you want Blackout, he will probably cost quite a bit since he was another one of the Animated toys that never saw a NA release.

You need to get all of them. There are so many great figures in this line, from Deluxe to Voyager to Leader Class.

I started collecting the Animated figures when the line was just coming to an end,so I ended up getting some really good deals on them.I think your best bet for finding them is to keep an eye on the Junkion Exchange.I see them for sale on there quite often and they are usually at a good price.

Odds are you can probably still find Ironhide at your local Toys R Us.

Samurai Prowl is the best Prowl there is. Also Blurr is amazing.

I just broke out Leader Bulkhead last night from a storage bin to see how the Prime figs display with the Ani stuff. Close but no cigar. But man, Leader Bulk is a sweet ass robit.

Blackarachnia is an amazing figure and can be had for cheap. Rodimus and Arcee are great, as are Oil Slick, Prowl, and both Ratchets.

    ....Just get them all.

I really like the Starscream (go figure). But honestly, you can't go wrong with Animated toys.

They shouldn't be that hard to get. I see people selling Animated figures in the B/S/T section often for decently cheap.

yeah, he's great too. He never left my display shelf in my office actually when I packed up all the other animated stuff. Got a little corner with a bunch of Screamers and he's standing strong right there with the rest. Fun design, dig the colors, beats the Prime one imo. :D

Every single figure is good. The only ones I would not recommend buying are those that have another version that is better. eg I like Hydro Dive Bumblebee better than the other two, I like Voyager Prime better than the two deluxe ones, I like Voyager Grimlock better than the activator etc.

The only caveat about collecting these is that they do not sit well with most other lines. I currently have none on display even though I like them, they just seem out of place.

I'd suggest for your Bumblebee, go the Activators route. He the best one out there of all the BBs we got with Animated. That being said, others I'd highly suggest picking up are Shockwave, Ultra Magnus, Grimlock (may be able to find these at a TJ Maxx or whatnot near you still!), Deluxe Optimus, Swindle, and Rodimus.

Mine does. He's okay given how much articulation he has for a figure his size.

I recently got back into TF animated myself. Figures are easy to find and quite cheap. Now teh time to get them, because alot of kids and collectors don't want them any more so you can buy cheap lots.

    Personally i'd go for:

    Voyager optimus prime
    deluxe cybertron prime
    leader Ultra magnus
    Lockdown
    Rodimus prime
    Blackarachnia
    Oilslick
    Prowl
    Cybertron ratchet
