Based on the screencaps posted here, and the tiny model sheet size comparisons, it seems to go this way (for the five main Autobots, not as much info on the other characters' official sizes yet), I don't think that's quite right.

In order of descending height, according to the tops of their heads:

    Bulkhead (naturally)
Optimus Prime (roughly 1/2 head shorter than Bulkhead)
Ratchet (top of his head reaches the top edge of Optimus' chest)
Prowl (top of head reaches Ratchet's neck)
Bumblebee (top of head is at Prowl's upper chest, similar to Ratchet vs. Optimus. Compared to Bulkhead, Bumblebee is roughly at the dividing line between Bulk's chest and abdomen)

Like others said, there's a lot of size-fudging in the series, but that seems to be close to the official size comparisons for the main 'Bot crew.

I think if you trying to get a scale reference from the animated show you will just give yourself a headache. I like what you are doing but I think (my opinion) you will cause my harm then help.

Nice job, but the characters always seem to be different as far as size goes. It seems to me that one bot could be one size on one scene, but then on another scene be different.

Yeah, the cartoony nature of the art style means that in any one shot, a character may be taller, thinner, fatter, etc. I generally use this shot as my size guide, since there's nothing going on but them standing up straight in line with each-other.

The best way to determine any Transformers' size, if they have an earth-vehicle mode, is how big would a human sitting inside it be?

I personally think the cartoon makes Prowl way too big, seeing as how he's a one-person motorcycle. Wouldn't Bumblebee be bigger than him, being a car that can fit 2-4 people? The biggest problem I see with that picture, though, is BB & Fanzone. BB is supposed to be a replica of the Detective's car, but Fanzone looks way too big to fit inside...

The Decepticons seem abour right, but you need to have a much bigger size contrast between Autobots and Decepticons. Animated Megatron should really tower over Optimus.

One scene alone can't tell anything. Why? Because we all know there's always size errors in any Transformers series. The height difference isn't as much in "A Bridge too far part 2"

While their size does very thewought the show, here's my own size chart (this is what I think the rough size of them usually is in the show):

Somehow, I don't think Lugnut is as large as Megs...

Hey nice work there. This thread should be about what we fans prefer as the size disparity rather than anything 'official', because firstly it doesn't make sense and the show itself doesn't reflect that.

That's nice stuff right there, but wow.... Ratchet's even shorter then Prime! Just make a size comparison between Prime and Megatron, Prime looks like a babydoll for Megatron's endulgence.

Thanks. The show has been verying on the size differences, but it's not too bad. As for Lugnut, he's actually bigger than Megatron, but if you only go off of how tall he is to the head, he's about the same height as Megs. I'm mainly going off of the first time we see them in Animated, on their ship. Soundwave was probably the easies to size, as he's just slightly larger than Bulkhead. As for Prime and Megs, Prime is about half his size, imo. The shot showing him barely coming up to his knees appears to be at such an angle that it over exaggerates Megatron's size compared to Prime's. Which works for the scene, as it puts us in the role of Optimus, and makes us feel tiny. This type of shot works a lot better in live-action movies though.

finally, someone with Soundwave as a large guy! he was about bulkhead's size in show, which is why ive always considered him as more of an SUV in the show, yet a scion as a toy cause he's tiny

I just consider Soundwave to turn into a Scion just slightly larger than the average SWAT vehicle (what Bulkhead turns into). More or less a large armored truck that looks like a giant tricked out Scion.
