Hey everybody, what's up? Finally got around doing this.

So it seems I'm not that good yet at realistic/movie stuff, haha. :lol  Anyway, here's an Animated version of the Contructicon, Long Haul!

I kind of tried to mix Josh Nizzi's awesome movie design with the Animated construction workers look, and some sparce G1 bits to finish it off.

He's much bigger than Mixmaster and Scrapper!
He has to carry all the heavy stuff round, like I-Beams and all that jazz!
He is the silent strong kind of guy!
He would actually like to fight much more than he likes to build stuff!
He has pupils..because, you know..the other guys have them too!
He has a shield which he uses to just blindly charge into Autobots!

    Alright, nappy time! :)

    Update! 11 October 2009

I changed the tires on him, the slick tires don't really make sense for a construction machine that rolls around in a lot of sandy places.

Also, added a movie colors variant..which..might not be as goodlooking, but wanted to try it out anyway.

Stop posting stolen work from Cartoon Network's office. :lol

That design totally rocks! :thumb  I really like that you mixed the movie design into this. Makes me wish they had done more animated Constructicons for the series. Are you planning to do a Devastator design down the road?

Cool stuff.  I like the mix of the movie L.H. outline with the Animated character design.

The truck bed becoming a big shield is an interesting concept.

That looks REALLY good, imo. Has a nice mixture of Nizzi's design, Animated styling, and a bit of G1. Would definitely make for an interesting toy. It's too bad Hasbro never did get around to making the Animated Constructicons in toy form. Keep up the good work :thumbs2:

Love it. But then again, I love all things Animated style. Hopefully we'll see your take on the other constructicons.

    Keep up the awesome work!

Good job on reworking the big, green, complaining machine into the Animated aesthetic.

    Thanks!

If I ever get to doing a Devastator, I think he will be looking more like G1 Devastator than movie..I really like the movie design (apart from the robo-testicles :p ), but I think G1 works better in this case - but of course it would not be a carbon-copy of the G1 version, want to make it fresh as well. :)

I was under the impression though, once Dirt Boss was introduced, the Constructicons would form a Devastator with just those 3 parts, with Dirt Boss acting as the head. I think Ra88 made a cool design of that..but maybe it works with 2 or 3 more Cons, too..:)

I guess this is the best compliment one can get in this case :lol  Thanks!

    Crayons and fingerpaint! ;)
Animated's coloring isn't anything special, but in any case Photoshop is still the thing to rely on, even for basic coloring :)
Actually, it's something I noticced while designing him as well. Had some variations, but I found out the more I tried to make him different, the less he started to look like an movie-animated Long Haul head to me..originally in my sketches he looked more like a lumberjack and had some sweet sideburns, but then I noticed he was pretty much Mixmaster's cousin :lol .

Still, I'm happy with the head right now.

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone!
