Hahaha that's awesome. There's almost an 80's feeling to the whole thing.

I almost feel like if they can do this, then what's to stop them from animating some extra episodes? They feature Ironhide and Arcee pretty prominently on the opening video but they only appear a number of times on the actual show.

Awesome. That intro was very Japanese.

Wow, the opening sure does show a lot of spoilers.

I also find it hilarious that the "other" Ironhide is featured pretty prominently.

I am utterly shocked that Takara actually splurged on a new opening animation. And considering what they've done in the past, the focus on bit players because of the higher G1 influence is not surprising.

Personally, I don't want Takara to touch this series with new episodes, as is I have severe doubts as to whether the finished product will be any decent given the last TF series done by this director was the utterly butchered Beast Wars dub (which gave us a Megatron that screamed like a little girl)

WOW. That...was...actually...pretty cool! The drawings looked (mostly) similar to the American models, and the frame rate and detail is probably the highest we've ever seen for these characters. A neat little gem for us TF:A fans.

I find it kind of weird that the intro sets up some rivalries and plot points that never happen in the show. EG, Ultra Magnus never actually gets into a fight, Black Arachnia never fights Arcee, Arcee doesn't use her swords, etc.

I'm also a bit weirded out by the prominent translucent caped figure in the beginning. Unless I'm remembering wrong, I don't think the series even has someone with that silhouete, and yet he's the first thing that shows up, and quite prominently too. Looks kind of like Straxus, if Straxus got himself a cape like the Decepticons in TF:Zone.

The credits conclude with Optimus Prime flying toward what appears to be Shadow Blade Megatron, but HUGE and glowing. Have the animators SEEN the show?

Also: I'm glad I saw the show before I saw this intro. It spoiled, like, the entire series in 90 seconds!

Loved the opening, but yes, the inclusion of Arcee, Ironhide especially seemed a bit odd. Arcee doesn't come into play till end of Season 3 bar one flashback ep.

I'm honestly torn. On the one hand, great animation. On the other, total finger in the face to the American TFA Cartoon's themes and plot. So much oozing Japanese cliche, and why the fuck were Arcee and BA fighting? (hell, Arcee's not even a fighter. She's a friggin' teacher) They don't even know eachother exist. Totally unoriginal typical anime music, too. Just randomly spoiling major plot points of the show, as well.

And Ironhide? Where'd he come from? Just... so much nonsense.

Thought the characters are still really Cartoony-fied, with quick "blink and you miss" transformations, very much like the high-quality stock transformations, only minus the pupils in the eyes. (which makes all the Autobots look fucking creepy as hell, but whatev.) Like, damn that was cool animation.

Woah........:bay  The overuse of "Armourhide" and Arcee is interesting. Mabye more episodes in Japan than we got here? Plese Takara?

Leave to the Japanese to out do us, even with our home-grown material. I wish US/Uk had the rich musical varience Japanese Transformers have.

That was an awesome looking intro, and reminded me of G Gundam, but have they watched the show? I think people are going to be dissapointed in the lack of Ironhide (whatever he's called in this show) and Arcee.
Also, looks like they're not trying to hide the fact that the Autobot ship is Omega Supreme.

That was awesome! Reminds me of the early 90s intros for Gundam. Though I do find it odd that Ratchet was fighting Longarm and not Shockwave. Plus being full of spoilers doesn't help. Oh well, It's too good and I'm going to watch it again.

I'm seriously confused, its like they used the toy designs and just created something completely new, are we sure they just dub'd the US version b/c seriously that intro makes no sense for the TF:A we had
