One of the best transformers shows of all time period
I'd like some new Animated toys. I don't mean Animated homage ones, but ones that have that special Animated aesthetic that made them look like they'd come straight out of the TV series .
Add me to the list of people who were turned off by the art style at first, but came to love the toy line and the show.
The toon is just so different and more creative than anything that came before it, and filled with homages to other TF shows. It really is a love letter to the fandom. And the toys boast some amazing engineering to get the designs to work as real-life Transformers. It’s the only TF line other than G1 to motivate me to complete it; I only need a couple more to own all the commercially-released Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders.
This is the show that brought me back into transformers. I remember not liking the designs immediately, but warmed up to them quickly, especially when we started seeing hints of the toy designs. That cybertronion Optimus and voyager bulkhead got me super excited.
Show was excellent, perfect mixture of references to older transformer history, while also having the best world building of any transformers show to date. And while much of the show had a cheerful exterior, the writing presented some intensely political and moral questions to its audience. If only the shows had kept this kind of quality.
Definitely in the top three series for Transformers for me, beautifully written, great characters, interesting designs, and lots of easter eggs for the older collectors. Not just a money grab, but more from the heart from people that cared about the franchise
Yes! That's a good way to celebrate a birthday!
I really hope that post-Prime Wars Generations will have some Animated toys mixed in.
Wow I can't believe it has been 10 years. I loved this show so much. It was the beginning of the end for me with Transformers. The shows cancellation and end of the toyline really turned me off of the brand. It was so fresh and innovative. It was truly special and rejuvenated Transformers.
I still miss it to this day.
I've been watching Transformers: Animated recently on Hasbro's streaming app on the Roku device for HDTVs, and it's DVDs are also available on Amazon.com.
Easily my favorite toyline in the franchise\'s history. Sleek, simple, dynamic, and the kind of toy I can hand down to my young son without worry of breakage, boredom, or confusion. TF needs more toys like this.
It's not one of my favorites, but I do wanna help anyone out who might want the series in HD. If you've got an Australian iTunes account (by whatever means) you can download the series in crisp, wide-screen, 1080p.
It was a great show that was simply attacked on all sides. I would love a revival of some form.
Still one of the greatest and most innovative toy lines ever made.
This thread got me to revisit this show via various clips.
And I gotta say, I absolutely love this incarnation of Megatron. Corey Burton played him to absolute menacing perfection. He’s on par with, hell, above Prime Megatron.
“You couldn’t lead a parade.” Great line.
You know, I really wish I could somehow read that TFNation Trial and Error comic.
Just to feel that sense of closure that everyone who read it got to feel.
And to get a better look and Powermaster Optimus and Marauder Megatron.
It\'s interesting, it\'s stated in the article that the show amd the toyline didn\'t get the best recieval yet when I was seven/eight years old when this show came out all I could find was Animated. Heck I don\'t remember ever finding Universe figures except for one Christmas when I got Ultra Class Silverbolt. Movie toys were always picked over and harder to find and typically on clearance. For me it wasn\'t until 2010 when Hasbro pushed the late Revenge of the Fallen line, Reveal the Shield, Generations, and Hunt for the Decepticons all at once, all containing some level of branch between the movie and G1 designs, which caused the Animated toyline to blunder
And maybe it\'s about time for Masterpiece figures?
Season 4, just do it.
So where's the contradiction? If a line is less popular, it will be easier to find unsold on the shelves. If it's constantly been picked-over, that means people are competing to buy it.
Judging from when G1 and Beast Wars started getting MPs, I'd say we've got another 10 years to go. I'd love to see Hasbro do the unreleased stuff though.
It only took 10 years to get Movie Masterpieces. And by my earlier comment, I mean there wasn't even the pegs for the other toylines as in the store never even ordered the "more realistic" Transformers. Contradiction.
