I was talking to one of my friends today, he's into the whole trading card game scene. He gave me a link to this website and told me to check out the card on the front page. So I did, and lo and behold, it looked like someone had fused Astrotrain with a Gundam and placed the picture on a Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card. It was freaky but rather interesting as well. Maybe the same people who work on Transformers in Japan work on Gundam and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards too. We've drawn the connection between Gundam and Transformers for years (yes the pun was intended), maybe it's finally come to fruition.

there's references to all sorts of stuff in yugioh if you look deep enough. pretty much every konami game has at least one reference in a card, and there's even a monster based on GaoGaiGar.

Yeh thats what I thought. Galaxy Shuttle/Thunder Dagwon reference? Thunder Dagwon DID have a gundam-like head.

Isn't there a card called Megatron? I just don't feel like going through my son's collection, but I think there is.

there are also references to gundam seed with perfect machine king and heavy mech support platform (yugioh cards)

Theres a trap card called "rollout!" (clearly the titles a transformer homage) and features the art of the platform and perfect machine king combineing.

neither of those are references to gundam seed. and rollout isnt a transformers reference, based on what is on the card image.

Who said anything about Gundam Seed? I only ever said Gundam, no one specific series. All the Gundams have similar features no matter what variation you look at.

Looking at it, that definitely seems like a Thunder Dagwon to me. Same proportions and everything. Given the appearance of Gaogaigar on one card, I'd imagine one of the YGO guys might be a Brave fan. The name "Perfect Machine King" certainly sounds like a Brave name, too.
