    Hey all, Bumblebee here! :)

I just have a quick question regarding the director for the Bumblebee prequel film: does anybody have an idea as to how I can come into contact with Travis Knight (via social media platforms)? Recently, I have yielded no luck. However, some assistance would be greatly appreciated! :D

NOTE: I apologize if the following thread does not categorize adequately in this setting.

I hope it's not for bothering him with story ideas or fan designs.

Actually no, I'm afraid not. It's more ambitious than that.

I uh... want to audition for a role... any role at that. I know it may seem a little unconventional to approach a director in such a fashion, but I can't express how big of an opportunity this could possibly be for me. I was planning on getting in contact with him two months in advance (presumably before filming in July).

That sounds pretty cool. I don't know how to contact him, though.

If you do end up getting a role, be sure to tell us!

You should've look at how to get roles in movies in those 2 months. Bothering a director will not only won't work, it will kill your chance entirely. Get a casting agency and look out for casting calls when they're up. Hollywood doesn't work that way.

Yep, when it comes to acting or appearing in films, it's almost always a "don't go to them, they'll come to you" type deal.

Unless you're a super famous actor with a lot of pull in the industry but even then, you don't really see it all that much.

Ouch. People have managed to do it in the past, under their terms; I've seen it.

But nevertheless, I think we're getting a little off-topic, yeah? Although, the advice is much appreciated.

Yes yes, I see both of your points, I really do. But I don't see any reason not to try. Ruin my chances, sure, but at least I can look back and say I did it instead of not doing anything at all.

We're telling you the correct way of trying it. What you're planning to do is not ethical at all.

So OP, what you're asking is if anyone here has personal, private knowledge of Travis Knight's social media accounts, and if they can share that information with you so you can contact him directly to ask for an audition for one of the biggest movie franchises in Hollywood? Do I have that right?

While it doesn't hurt to try, 99% of the time, the result will be either a "no" or no reply at all. It's like asking a video game developer like, say, Insomniac Games to come test out the new Spidey game and look for bugs. It doesn't work like that. You have to go through the right steps and procedures to become an actual video game tester, and then go on to apply for the position at Insomniac. Same case here. Red already explained it, but long story short: you have to go through the right processes. I'm honestly not sure what you're expecting Travis to do, given that he has no knowledge of you or your acting career at all.

Again, any role would be lovely :) . I may come across as naïve but I'm not negligent to get my hands dirty.

The constructive-criticism is welcomed and I only know you guys are just trying to be help. With that said, I think I'm going to be a little more mindful of my actions here-on-out. Thank you!

You might have a bigger chance if you already has someone in mind and not just go with "any role at that".

Yeah, I agree with Red. If I were in Travis Knight's position and you did something like that, I wouldn't even respond, and most likely block you. Don't try doing that.

Seriously, just get a casting agency to work with you. They might be able to get you an opportunity to get that job faster than a snap of your fingers.
