Hasbro has nobody to blame but themselves on the toy sales. The toys that were wanted weren't released and the "DOTM" unique toys were short packed for BB and Prime.

I don't think they are blaming anyone else.

I have to agree, it might help if they'd stop choking the lines with Optimus and 'Bee figures. But "freshening up the cast with new robots" to me translates as having a bunch of disposables that can be conveniently killed off in every movie while the Two Brand Figureheads make it to the end credits (relatively) unscathed.

I think Hasbro has to redo their storylines. As much as it probably pains someone like Bay to do so, they have to stop putting so much focus on the humans. They take precious screentime away from the TFs. It would help as well if they could spread more focus on the other robots. Kids won't buy characters who only have 1 or two lines and only show up for a scene, neither will they do if the characters are just a bunch of annoying stereotypes like Skids and Mudflap. They'll also have to make their robots more distinct. Most of the time, I can hardly make out who it is among the secondary bots, because their robot modes look almost the same, what more the kids?
