Insiders Say TRANSFORMERS 4 Will Have More Action, Less Jokes| Badass Digest
How is this even possible?
Whether or not it's a "direct sequel," all I really want to know is if they will finally switch up the "Bayformer" aesthetic. Never have been a hater of the visual style but 4 years is enough. Let's get some "Transformers: Prime-ish" designs going in live-action.
Oooh this looks promising , I liked the part where he said there would be less jokes
Although they said that for DOTM and people still complained
Also I'm glad it's jst a straight up sequel as opposed to this reimagined/reboot nonsense
"More action" doesn't mean more robots. Adding 20% more "humans in military uniforms shooting at things off-screen" isn't any better than what we have now.
Maybe it's not fighting "action"
Maybe it's gonna turn into a chick flick hot action?!
"action" can be very loosely defined.
Ahh , if you like the Prime designs , then theres a wonderful show that I think u might like. It's called Transformers Prime and it incorporates some of those "Prime" designs you talk about into the show.
Sorry for the sarcasm but Prime is for Prime designs and the movie Is for the movie designs.
I would hope they understand that we don't want more HUMAN action.
But its too late for that.
Y'know, he said DOTM would have less crude humour compared to ROTF, and he was technically right.
Honestly, I'd take humans fighting over humans talking.
More Action???? What happened to story? The jokes were not the issue it was the 99% action and no story that was the problem.
More cowbell please
Yes, we've heard this all before, and while I do have to admit DOTM was an over all improvement over ROTF- it really was more of the same (even if there was less leg humping in it).
At this point I don't think it's possible for any movie Michael Bay makes to be anything more than more of the same. Just like the last three, I'll see it in a theater once or twice, then I'll buy it on DVD and watch the cool fights endlessly- but never subject myself to the full movie ever, ever, ever again.
I loved this quote from the article:
"people come to a Transformers movie to see what Optimus Prime et al are doing, not to find out how Sam Witwicky's job search is going."
Doesn't matter. More action will still = more complaining.
I do think they have toned down the humor from ROTF to DOTM, but even so, it just isn't my humor (and I like some pretty dumb comedy if you look at my DVD collection). The jokes just wern't funny and just seemed like obvious observations at times. I don't know, just not my style. It was nice to see that they cut it significantly though for the third one, cause ROTF was just brutal at times.
now you are asking for a miracle
I knew someone would say that, but that's not really my point. It's just that whenever a new TF movie happens everything else gets shitcanned, and I'm not really up to another 18 months of shelf-clogging Camaros and Peterbuilts. There are an infinite number of ways to visually adapt TF designs for live action, and what we've seen is just one way. By "Prime-ish" designs I just mean I'm ready to see (presumably) ILM tackle something sleeker.
Yeah liek we've haven't herd that before.....
I like the last paragraph of that article. He says it’s his own speculation, but that it has been fuelled by what was said to him. Still, its a Bay movie. So expect a Bay movie.
So in other words...
"HE TELLS ME!
What I'd really like is a well made movie with a good story (which probably would involve some humans talking- also maybe some robots talking and doing character related things as well- something we really haven't seen in these movies). But under Bay's watch this will never happen.
The problem with humans fighting is that if I want to see humans battling aliens, there are far better alien invasion movies than TF. If I want to see a human war movie there are far better war movies than TF.
What we don't really have so far is robot battling robot movies that seriously outshine transformers. (it also helps that I love watching my childhood heroes) I think Bay should focus on this.
Actually, what I'd LOVE to see is an extended road chase with vehicle based transformers battling it out at 90 mph. I know we've had some freeway chases already- but I'm talking something along the lines of the chase at the end of the Road Warrior. We're talking 30-40 minutes.
