There is a rumor that Dark of The Moon will not be the last TF movie!!
It may be the last TF movie created by Bay but not the last in the movie franchise!! I actually hope it's true but i do not really count on it!
Also Shia Lebaouf ( Sam Witwicky ) said that Dark of The Moon would be he's last movie! How can they actually make a TF4 movie whitout Shia in it?? Unless the Autobots return to their destroyed planet Cybertron it sound like a bad idea to make a part 4!

    Any toughs???

Of course it won't be the last movie. Look at how much money the previous two brought in and how much this one will undoubtedly be a similar big hit. The only question is whether it'll be a reboot or a sequel.

Bay said that the next movie would likely be a reboot. You also have the main human star not returning which is a way bigger problem than the girlfriend not returning. Since it was just a three movie contract it's unclear if other talent would return or not for a fourth film.

Plus just look at some of the really bad movies that were made when Hollywood has tried to keep a franchise in the style of a previous director. Do you really want the Transformers version of Batman and Robin?

If the Spiderman reboot does well then expect Hollywood to go reboot crazy.

Just a lot of things at this point that says yes they would likely make new Transformers movies some time in the future because Hollywood loves cashing in on an old name over the risk of a new brand. But the chances of being exactly like the Bay films is not looking very good.

I say no reboot. Keep the same Transformers, I love the designs. But get a new director. It can work getting rid of main characters, look at Pirates 4(granted Jack Sparrow was still in them...) But keep the cast of surviving Autobots and Decepticons

We've already heard this rumor not too long ago about the possibility of there being another TF movie, whether it be a 4th installment or a reboot.

I've never heard the word "reboot" from any of the production people. I saw an interview awhile back saying they hoped the Mr. Bay would stay to do another one. So I take that as if they wanted to do another sequel not Reboot like everyone on youtube keep saying.....

I'm not really sure that Sam's looks would change all that much between 20 and 40 so everything else the same but different actor might not work all that well.

Plus the main market for these films seems to be the teen market so would they show up for a middle aged hero?

IMO, a sequel could really work. With all the robot deaths supposedly occuring in DOTM Tf4 could introduce a whole bunch of new Transformers on both sides and involve the rebuilding of Cybertron.

    This.

I've liked the movies for what they were; but I feel the need to leave this continuity behind and see what new can be done.

I'd prefer to have a sequel instead of reboot.

Anyway, if they go for a reboot, they should at least have the same designs

Um- wouldn't that be the same as going from 1985 to 2005?

And make him a supporting character to his 9-year-old son, Daniel and his best-Autobot-friend-forever-in-orange Wheelie as they get themselves in all sorts of adven...

    *BANG* (shot to the head)

Reboot and MAKE THE ROBOTS THE MAIN CHARACTERS/FOCUS OF THE FILM.
