That was actually kinda funny. Bay can actually seem like a nice guy sometimes, if he really tries. He sort of showed off the good side to his sense of humor in that video. Also, looks like one of the hidden extras from the Blue-Ray DVD, so I think there's a good chance the video will be taken down. Doesn't really matter either way, as he actually doesn't reveal anything.

lol, the "lies and misinformation" campaign continues. That's a fun clip.

There Bay is, talking about how he wants to make the film smaller, meanwhile they're panning over pics of Unicron.

I think he is one of Hollywood's biggest snobs just hiding it with that Mr.Nice Guy attitude.

    Sweet! :)

Please no unicron though! All I want is just a *little* more characterization for the bots and cons. Especially Ironhide, Sideswipe and Screamer :)

Like I said before, I am surprised that TF3 will be out in 2011. I thought Bay wanted to wait to put the movie out in 2012, so he can take a year off.

But he said in the video that Paramount is pressuring him to get started on the third film.

I actually think TF3 will be a big mess due to Paramount Rushing him.

Actually not some bad ideas. Instead of just going bigger and more action to go with something that is going to stick with the viewer even when effects have moved on to bigger and better stuff. Spectacle has been done and in a big way so perhaps the whole sideways is the way to go and will catch the public off guard when they are just expecting more of the same.

i like the video. he actually seems like he's fun...granted, his idea is less action means it'll still have more action then your standard action flick, but more robot characterization sounds great...

He tells me that they can't go bigger while a picture of Unicron is on the screen! :lol  Gotta love that. (Not that I have a problem with Unicron; I've said it many times that he can be altered to fit the movieverse. Make him like the Xindi superweapon from Star Trek: Enterprise is my suggestion.)

In that video Bay is saying all the right things to appease us. How much of that will become a reality depends on more factors that can possibly be listed. Delving into the lore is good. It worked for Revenge of the Fallen and it can work for TF3.

And your reasoning for this is?
(other than your dislike of his work, of course)

When RoTF came out, he claimed all the actors he's worked with he was the one to give them stardom. That can apply to some of stars, but not all of them. What about Will Smith or Nicholas Cage? Don't tell me he gave Sean Connery his stardom.

If you really think he sincerely believes that, I'd say he's not the one with the attitude. And even if not, it's not like he's the only person in the Hollywood circuit to use hyperbole as a form of advertisement (that accounts for about 97% of fakesville).

Agreed. ROTF had more spectacle than I ever expected. Seemed like maybe fourfold what we got in the first movie. I think people expect more with each movie, but eventually there's a limit.

Bay worked his butt off on the last film, and he was talking about taking it easy, making a smaller film. Maybe he's sticking to that plan, only with TF3 as the smaller film. Of course he can only go so small, he's got a reputation to live up to.

If he keeps the scale under control, it could make for a better film. ROTF kinda lost it's focus. So long as he doesn't try to make up for it with his comedy stylings it should be a good thing.

Wasn't Bad Boys Will Smith's big break into movies?

Read between the lines my friend. Bay knows Paramount will pay him really well to get this movie out soon and keep the money making machine going. He just wants his cut.

You're exagerating, he said that he gave many young actors their boost to glory, which isn't exactly a lie is it? You mentioned Will Smith himself, he's a pretty good example, or do you think that he started his blockbuster career in The Fresh Prince?

Well sure Paramount will pay Bay the big bucks to get the third movie out ASAP. Everybody knows that. Its just I thought Bay was sincere about taking some time off.

Even Shia LaBeouf said he wanted to take a year off to do other things.
