It'll only be worth it if most 3D scenes are in space.

:2c:  I think Bay HAS to go 3D if he wants TF3 to be a big success, My friend tells me Avatar 2 is going to be released around the same time frame as TF3. So if Avatar 2 is going to be in 3D and TF3 is not then we have a BIGGGGG problem with TF3 making ALOT of money. So lets hope they make it in 3D.

I willing to bet that it'll be a 'fixed afterwards' thing though, as opposed to using Jim Camerons proprietory 3D camera system whilst shooting...

3D is just the worst thing to happen to movies, and I'm including Avatar in this (even though it was better than most). I'm just getting sick of seeing it everywhere, and the last place I want to see it is in Transformers. Especially when I know Bay would go the route of RAWRITJUMPEDOUTATYOU 3D.

It looks like crap, you have to wear those damn glasses, it costs more money to see, and it adds nothing to immersion. If anything, it helps make me MORE aware that I'm watching a movie instead of getting pulled in.

I have no real love of 3D movies. Avatar was an enjoyable experience, but I think that it would've been fun enough with in 2D (I know it was available in that format but I went to the 3D version after only paying 60p for the glasses thanks to knowing people; I am very happy however that I have not contributed to it's $2bn takings). I have to wear two pairs of glasses to watch the bloody thing and that's the turn off. Dealing with normal specs are bad enough, but those ill-fitting 3D movie things are awful!

Given the list films that have decided to go 3-D I can't say that I'm shocked. In way it's good thing though because the more films that go 3-D the more theaters will decide it's time to invest in a 3-D film projector instead of business going out of town to a theater that can show the movie in 3-D.

Plus 3-D might be something that really picks up the ticket sales. I'm sure lots of people would want to see how the robots looked in 3-D compared to 2-D.

Hmmm... That'd be good as it is seriously uncomfortable in my opinion wearing two pairs at the same time. I can't be the only person who wears glasses to feel that way. I just hope that they aren't too expensive to buy these prescription 3D glasses.

TF3 might finally get that VFX Oscar for three dimensional transforming robots interacting with people.

I am doubting this one too. Has James Cameron ever worked that quickly.

It's slightly more advanced, and a whole lot less cool without the red-and-blue lenses.

It's possible that it could be the edge that puts it over the top in what can be a really tough field each year.
