At least they haven't stopped completley, and I'm glad it's not affecting the release date.
Thats true. I like Shia, but they need to put his ass in a cage and only let him out when it's time to say his lines. For his safety of course. LOL
Jackie Chan finished Rumble in the Bronx with a broken foot.
What's the hold up?
They are waiting for Jack Black to voice Shockwave.
so does this mean they are hoping to avoid writing the hand injury into the story?
Just call it a tragic "lubrication" accident with Bumblebee and move on.
We're lookin' for giant robots not cracked little carpals.
Aww pls don't lengthen the the release of this movie!!
Mkay, let's take this opportunity to once again petition for LESS HUMAN screentime and MORE BOT CHARACTERISATION.
so has filming been stopped or is today the firsy day
Didn't they have some hiatus time built into the filming schedule for the looming SAG strike that they didn't need to use?
I figured they'd hit a snag sooner or later because of Shia's Injury. Hopefully the other stuff will get done.
That would be rather cool !
Jack Black as Soundwave: "Witness the wrath of Megatron.....Fuckers."
Viggo broke his foot in L.O.T.R. I cannot believe that Shias' character is this important. This movie is called Transformers..right?
I REALLY hope this does not effect post production.
EDIT:Just saw that the missing finger thing was a hoax
The guy from the crew I talked to was pretty po'ed that they were out of work for 4 weeks. No pay during that time for them. And it's not like they can go just pick up 3-4 weeks worth of work on no notice. Also, they are expected to return at a moments notice.
Silver lining is that everyone gets a break from getting yelled at by Bay!
That's bullshit, can't they just make a few re-writes to suit the story a little better? Can't they just do WITHOUT Shia being in the sequel for a bit? I want to see more giant alien robots, who really gives two craps about the humans already?
But no, due to this stupid decision, this could influence the release date of the actual TF2 trailer, possibly even the release of the movie itself.
that's what I seem to recall as well. However, I think it's one thing to plan for a break (strike), then have a break unexpectedly need to be taken (injury).
That said, since it is a "principal" character, if he can't move his hand, he can't do much. There's probably only so much babying/taking it easy he can do on an action flick.
As for Jackie - he's also since said that he knows he will pay for the many broken bones he's gotten over the years; and for Viggo - didn't know that; but depending on what point they were at for filming, it's possible he didn't have to do much except talk while his foot healed, as well as the 2nd (+) units film other "main" characters.
I agree, but the were ready to be off for the strike without it changing the release date. And that could have gone for months like the WGA strike did.
The strike would have stopped ALL filming for however long.
At least this injury only delays scenes that include Sam.
Second Unit and First Unit NEST scenes should be unaffected.
