    BLASTER (The Smooth Soldier)

    1984 toy problem/issue:
(Had him, why is he so much larger than optimus prime?)

Who didn’t want a boom box that transformed?!!! I wanted a BLASTER figure that was more in scale with the classics line. Blaster was another character ignored by Hasbro/Takara for over 25 years now. I felt since I built a custom soundwave I just had to bring BLASTER to life. Do you own the original blaster from the 80’s? Have you ever wondered why the g1 blaster was so much larger than Optimus Prime? Well if you thought that was stupid then you’ll love this custom figure. So what I did was make a custom that didn’t move away from the original but mirrored the original at a more relative scale with a lot more modern technology and better proportions. Pretty much my main goal was to create a g1 figure that was more g1 than the original, 80’s style, with 2011 technology. Not only is BLASTER to scale with the classics line of transformers, he HOLDS G1 TAPES!!! THAT’S RIGHT A CUSTOM BLASTER THAT HOLD G1 TAPES. Here he is Classics BLASTER 2.0.

    Special features:
    - HOLDS G1 TAPES!!!!!! Do you really need any other features…lol?
    If you need more features,
    - Also holds power blox, which is also included
    - transforms from robot to tape deck with ease
    - has a locking mechanism to lock tape deck as well as open it.
    - G1 styling mixed in with a little bit of War for Cybertron and Classics cherry on top.
    - Very durable and scratch resistant, no glue was used completely bolted together.

First to comment. It looks great. It also looks unfinished. Needs some speakers in the front. This is an amazing custom though. Far beyond my abilities, even so, if Im thinking it looks 95-98% then Im thinking someone with more experience will think the same.

Maybe for your antenna, you can make it a 5mm meta rod, and have it alternate as a staff-type weapon?

This looks fantastic! I always did wonder why he towered over Prime too. :lol  I would also suggest adding speakers in the front for his boom box mode. Aside from that, spot on! What parts did you use other than Prime and Soundwave?

There is only one change I'd make to this, and that would be to get black speaker mesh and epoxy it to those front panels to give him the ghetto blaster appearance. Otherwise, I would LOVE to see how you emptied the cavity to hold the G1 cassettes, and I really like the color used. The paint is clean, shiny and really works.

HMM I might have to see if i can maybe come up with some bonus add-ons, thanks for the tip. I like to keep my customs clean and simple just like the originals but maybe this one needs a lil more.

    hmm another good idea.

prime, cybertron blaster, classics jetfire head, star wars crossovers and some other misc parts.

yeah ill think of something as for the cavity just dremeled the hell out of him..lol

atleast hes not twice the size as prime...lol

    Thanks guys!!

I personally think this is the best one yet you have dropped recently. Nice use of these parts and the ALT mode works very well.

I would love to see some speakers as other have said...maybe functional ones!!!

It looks like Blaster, but the minor flaws were taking care of. Good job.
