Hey guys,I just wanted to start this thread to see if you think Bay should put the transformation sound in DotM,to tell yall I think he should as this movie is shaping up to be more like g1 than the others.I really hope Bay does decide to have it in this movie as that sound was even more iconic than the transformers.
    Who is with me?.Later all.

I agree the transformation sound was subtly present in the first movie when the robots transformed, but it was just absent from ROTF. it would be nice to have it, just of course more menacing and modern.

I think the sound effects in all the movies really is the most well done part....
Well the CGI is pretty but the sound effects comes in second.
But anywho, I think the transformation sounds are really cool right now and doesn't need to be changed.

naa i think the g1 sound makes it less real

but i think they should add the WFC transformation noise in (sounds more alien and less mechanical)

I think they should do something subtle enough for the fans to get it, but for it to seem realistic. Such as metal clanging in the tune of the noise.

I just wish the blasters sounded more like they would do damage as opposed to scaled up soundchips from the toys. Where's Prime's Wuuuftooom, or Megatron's Kewwwwhumump and Starscream's Tewtewtewtewtew! Now we get pew! squeeee!

The transformation noise heard when Blackout, the Nokiabot, and Reedman transformed sounds pretty good. I wouldn't mind it being used full time, but it sounds admittedly a bit cheesy with these live action filims.

Bay'll sneak it in there once or twice for DOTM.

I like how each robot has their own sound effects when they transform, though it would be kinda cool to hear the classic sound effect for some of the transformations, but in a "transformation complete" sense rather than the sound they make while transforming (like how a computer dings when it logs on to a user profile).

But truthfully, I'm holding out for a transformation sound like Barricade's and Demolishor's. :p

It was in ROTF. It happened when Reedman transformed.

I like that you can identify several of the characters by the sounds they make when they move and transform, so I wouldn't want the G1 sound in it a lot. But to hear it once or twice or lightly incorporated into some characters' transformations would be fine with me.

Transformation noise = not essential. Never has, never will be.

If a sound should be added then I would pick a more recent one like in Armada. I remeber playing as Jazz in the 2007 game and when he transformed it souldn't like the old transformation sound. In the first film Ironhide had it right? When he transformed in slo-mo?

Even though me and my friends got fired up when we heard it in the first movie before Blackout transformed, I'd say things are fine as they are. Unless they could maybe integrate it in with the existing sound where just die hards would notice it. I guess that would be cool.

Yup, and Ironhide in 2007 when he transforms mid-air and shoots the ground.

Transformers Movies are tops in sound design. Anything more than what has already been done with "the g1 sound" would be too much.
