woah, Prime wars in 2018!

Takara looks great, but will likely be $300+, chipping\rubbing paint, a messy backpack and has a panelly alt mode.

MS looks great but arms might still be a bit long, and they're a bit unknown for QC, price, support etc.

TE looks great but arms might still be a bit long, the camel toe will show in colour, total unknown for quality, price, release, support, alt mode, transformation...but i think they have the best Prime head and face sculpt yet.

Why can't some others make another toon Megatron !?? That's cleaner in bot mode than the official ??

Oh this looks pretty good. Definitely nicer than that other goodly looking 3p one.

Curious to see what the alt mode looks like.

 

I still can't reconcile the smokestacks in bot mode hanging below the shoulder. I know it's toon accurate and shit but it looks whack.

this looks pretty damn good if im gonna be honest....I prefer this over the bulkier MS one and it looks like its less kibbly than the TT one....Looks like its got the closest to the toon proportions than the rest ..I need to see the vehicle mode to properly judge and also them being a new company i really dont wanna be the ginny pig...Its very promising though

looks more like a non-transforming action figure.

 

The biggest thing I’m getting from these reveals is that while Takara can produce some pretty slick, toon looking figures, they do so at the expense of a massive backpack. There are some exceptions (MP Dinobot for one) but looking at sunstreaker, BW Megatron and the hints of hinges and kibble on the back of Prime V3, these hyper-toon bots are pretty shocking from the back. It’s not that surprising really, a lot of official MP’s have been carrying a lot of back fat (carbots especially) but it kind of seems to be getting worse.
It will be pretty telling if MP-10, MS toys and this new one all have clean backs while the new official is lugging around a mess of panels. Not that official fans will care.

 

No it has the panels in the right places and the back clearly has pieces that would be the front of the truck mode.
