Consider yourself lucky that you escaped the Providence Place Mall following the premiere without being mugged or attacked by the gangs that inhabit(ed) that place.

I was always a fan of the franchise. The series really helped me out when I was a kid and to see it in live action for the first time just sent CHILLS down my spine. I love all the movies but the first one was an experience unlike any other. As a Beast Wars kid, seeing Scorponok battle the army squad is my greatest experience in Cinema.

I love this franchise and i'll be sad when it all ends. 10 great years of movies with a hope of ten more along the way. I'm gonna watch the movie all over again now. If only they could do a special theater screening of it here. We tend to have stuff like that happen here a lot. I want to be a kid again.

Oh man, the nostalgia! I remember when I saw this film for the first time. I was about eight when my dad took me to the theater. Before then, I’d seen scattered episodes of the Cybertron cartoon and the 1986 movie, so I thought I had an idea of what I was walking into. Boy, I had no idea! This was Transformers on a grander scale than I’d ever imagined!
I remember the scene with Blackout, hearing the classic transformation sound and seeing him change into robot mode, simply astounding! And then that scene with Scorpinok spying on those soldiers from under the sand and we see a close-up of his bug eyes; I get chills just thinking about it! And of course, I’d be remiss not to mention the Autobots’ arrival sequence!

Quite simply, the movie blew my mind. Since then, I’ve gone to see every consecutive movie in theaters and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single one!

For me, each movie marks an era of my life, each one symbolic of a specific period of personal growth. In ’07, I was just a wide-eyed kid, AOE saw me into sophomore year, and now TLK has ushered me into graduation. Regardless of their flaws and critics, these movies have and always will hold a special place in my heart.

So, I guess now the only thing left to say is thank you, to everyone involved in the making of these movies. Thank you for an amazing ten years!

So I went from the Live Action Movie Blog's post about the franchise's uncertain future in the face of TLK underperforming, to this beautiful post. Talk about mood whiplash.

But a beautiful post indeed. Thank you.

Wow what a crafty article. Thanks!

10 years. Wow that's how long it has been.
10 years ago, My only hobby is video games. I know TFs but only G1 & Beast Wars that are shown on TV.
I was having my first job after graduation then. Then the movie came out...

Guess what, I was amazed. It was one of the best movies of that year. My jaw dropped in awe.
Especially when autobots finally arrived then Prime transcanned the peterbuilt truck.
Then all 5 of them transformed altogether. I was like OMG!!!
I paid a seat but never left the cinema and watch it the 2nd time around because it's that so great (our local cinema house don't have reservation schemes back then).

After the film, It made me realize something. TFs are my lost childhood that I forgot/left upon growing up.
It reminded me that I was watching G1 TF cartoon when I was in the 1st grade. And I didn't care if it's a replay episode.
(the local tv station broadcasting it didn't managed to finish all 4 seasons).

It also reminded me as a kid that I used to grab my parents arms when I saw a TF toy in store.
Yeah, my parents brought me some like micromasters rescue team and greasepit, sparkabot cindersaur and action master kickoff.
Those are my only TFs toys as kid. They can't buy me a top tier TF toy coz we're not that a well off family.

Upon reaching 6th grade, I left TFs. As I ventured into other interests. Buying comics and studying highschool and finish college.

The 2007 film. MADE ME COMEBACK to TFs. Or to be precised, COMEBACK HOME to TFs.
As it's effects. I started buying deluxe Jazz and Arcee.
Then I bought DVD set of G1 cartoon (Rhino release version).
I didn't notice I'm waiting for the next waves of it and started to hunt every main characters of the 2007 film.
And while waiting for the next waves of figures, I bought the TF Classics that are on sale.
    TF bug bit me.
That is the start of my immersion to the toy collecting hobby.

If it's not for that film...
I'm not gonna able to write this stuff here in TFW2005.

Thanks to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.
They made my wallet bleed money but at the end of the day I'm happy.

You weren't the only one (I posted up the 10th anniversary of the Sydney screening here on TFW 2 weeks ago)... but I didn't know that someone else saw both as well. You must be that fifth Australian that I knew was somewhere at BC07... and lucky enough to be one of the few fans in the world to see it two weeks before the rest of the world.

2007 was magical. The movie represented a time where I was still excited for the future of LIVE ACTION TRANSFORMERS. I saw it on a Tuesday, early premiere night. I was simply blown away by the new, fresh take of Transformers. Seeing Transformers on the big screen in a believable scenario, yes please give me more!

Unfortunately I don't feel the sequels have held up the magic. They've had their moments, but ultimately did not fulfill how promising these movies could have been. It all started with 2007.

Ive said this in another post, but if it wasnt for the "bayverse", i wouldve never gotten into transformers. I was 8 going on 9 when the 2007 film came out and something about the trailer drew me in. I remember it had me so stoked and when i saw the film, i was exactly like that kid when optimus is fighting bonecrusher and he turns to his mum saying, "cool, mom!" As she turns to shield him. And i remember buying my "first" transformer for my birthday a month later, voyager class Blackout. (He's still one of my favorites to this day, pretty much kickstarting my collection. Whats great is i lost the lil skorponok that came with but a friend gave me their deluxe version so in a way: UPGRADE!) My interest slightly faded, then RoTF came and it was sorta 2007 all over again. It wasnt until 2011 with DoTM holding my interest and the aligned continuity further cementing my attention. The movieverse as well as FoC/prime hold a special place in my heart. When AoE came out, i went to see it on Navy Pier's imax screen, solely because they filmed a few frames of dotm there and they filmed some scenes of AoE right down the street from my school! And then when TLK came out, i had to see it during Optimus Prime time! Spoilers: the scene where Optimus unsheaths his sword and goes "have you forgotten who i am?!" Gave me the same chills and a rush of nostolgia as i remembered being 10 years younger seeing optimus do that famous stance in the 2007 movie. Are the movies perfect? Not by any means! But it provided what i wanted to see at 8, 10, and 12: giant robots, car chases, and explosions. I was thrilled. (Ik this has gone on far too long, but in a nutshell, i say you hit the nail on the head.)

I was 21 when the first movie hit, not long after that birthday in fact. Despite my fluctuating levels of disappointment with every subsequent movie, TF07 was a great film, not a perfect one, but it was a great way to start a series going.

    Good article Sol.

I first saw this now classic - yes, classic - film in a preview screening with my dad the weekend before it came out in the UK. And from there, my life was never ever the same again. I was 14 years old, was at a specialist secondary school I wasn't happy at. But this film was the light in my darkness that day. And it still shines ten years later.

This film along with the others despite their varying qualities got me into Transformers as a whole. And got me into watching more of Michael Bay's other films, studying them, see how each on including Transformers function under his fascinating, enigmatic eye.

Despite my interest in Transformers wavering over the years, I am still proud to have been involved in this fandom. And despite areas of the fandom which are... rough, to be polite, the fandom has been very accommodating and welcoming to me, especially the best of times.

I hope this franchise continue with or without Bay in any behind the scenes capacity and with new voices to drive behind the steering wheel because I personally don't audiences to be completely put off because they feel dissatisfied with most if not all the sequels. I hope the Bumblebee spinoff under Travis Knight wins back at least those audiences. If both can't be able to do that, I'd love the film franchise to come back with a vengeance and fly onwards under a complete reboot after a few years off.

Anyway, besides what I say, thank you, thank you, thank you x Infinity so much, Hasbro, Paramount Pictures, Brad Grey (RIP), the cast and crew, and the maestro himself... Mister! Michael! F**king! Bay! :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay :bay

Beautiful article, thank you for crafting it.

This movie changed my life in ways I cannot ever hope to articulate. Without it, I never would've joined a franchise and community I now consider a salient aspect of my existence. The coming of age elements were what I needed at the time. The score instills me with joy and sadness. And Optimus Prime became like a second father to me, just as I'm sure he did for many of you who grew up with G1—the circle truly does complete itself. Sometimes when faced with dilemmas, I ask myself, "What would Optimus do?"

Like many Bayformers fans, this movie is my G1. And it has allowed me to join one of the greatest franchises ever. I don't care how many flaws it has, I will always be grateful to Michael Bay, Stephen Spielberg, Steve Jablonsky, and everyone else involved. It's sappy, but I really do shed tears when I look back over the last decade and realize how much has changed in my life—and how Transformers was the one constant in a sea of variables. For that, I am humbled and speechless.

    Celebrate death.

Light quickly turned to darkness. But now, there is another glow in the distance. A glow for TF fans everywhere.

Wow. I can`t believe it has been 10 years already. Transformers (2007) was the movie that got me interested in the world of movies and the Transformers franchise (even though I watched alot of Transformers Cybertron on Cartoon Network before I knew about the movie)

I was 8 years old when the first movie came out. I wasn`t allowed to see it in theaters at first because my parents thought that it would be too violent for me, but after I saw Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 in theaters with no problems afterwards, they said that I could see it in theaters if the age rating was 11 (in Norway the age rating were Allowed For Everyone, 7, 11, 15, 18, until 2015 when it changed from 7 to 6, age rating 9 was introduced, and 11 to 12), and luckily it was rated age 11 :D .
I saw it on opening day on July 4th 2007, and was completely blown away by it.
It had something to do with seeing the Transformers (like Optimus Prime and Megatron) for the first time in live action on the big screen (We had only seen them animated on either the big sceen or the small screen), and how realistic they looked and moved (I was almost convinced that they were real), the action scenes and Steve Jablonsky`s fantastic soundtrack .
It was my favorite movie of all time (until I got older of course xD).
I bought so many TF toys during the times after I saw the movie (and I also bought alot of toys from the ROTF toy line and some from the DOTM toy line, and my chest was filled with TF toys xD). I watched it on DVD so many times when I got it for Christmas 2007.

If it hadn`t been for this movie, I would not be the massive Transformers fan that I am today. This was my G1. Though I have alot of issues with it today (the crude humor, lack of robot screentime, cringy moments in the first half and the love story), I love it and have a soft spot for it and the franchise.
Though I was dissapointed by Revenge Of The Fallen, I loved Dark Of The Moon, Age Of Extinction and liked The Last Knight, despite their issues aswell and I am excited for the future of this franchise with the Bumblebee spin-off and Transformers 6.

Thank you, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg for these amazing 10 years of my life with Transformers :)  :)

The fact that this movie came out 10 years age, makes me fell old xD.

    Happy 10 year anniversity to the live-action Transformers franchise :D  :D  :D
