    Agreed.

Both look good, but I'm all in for the PE version.

I've weighed it up and in the end it came down to the cannons.

PE's are always there, like lumbering extra limbs, whereas TransArt's tuck away very nicely, then come out when needed. So it's TransArt for me.

Yeah, I am teetering towards TransArt's as well. They both look AMAZING (seriously, works of art imo,) but I love that the guns can be more well hidden in theirs, and that he is in scale with MP-10. AND that he is reminiscent of the toy, while also being fairly toon accurate. PE's is as toon accurate to a large extent as well, but seems to draw on other influences too.

Anybody can do that metal look. Shiro1 came up with the idea. The relevant adjustment layers are like so:

The more severe the "M" shape, the more intense the chrome effect.

    Much obliged.

Without treading on TT's toes (for the time being, as they'll focus on Season 1 with their MP line), I can see TransArt producing a set of five great large-scale figures in the future:

    Optimal Optimus
    Megatron Dragon
    Tigerhawk
    Rampage
    Depth Charge

The original versions of these figures are great, but each could be fine-tuned a little, and if Optimal Optimus is anything to go by, that seems to be TransArt's modus operandi.

I don't see a company like PE doing the same thing. They're in the re-imagining business. Their Leonidas (Lio Conoy) was based on the character's Cybertronian appearance in the IDW Comics, and yet still varied considerably from Don Figueroa's design. Whereas TransArt's Optimal Optimus has stepped straight from the TV screen and has fixed a few little issues.

I don't want a Megatron Dragon or Tigerhawk in the same re-imagined style as Leonidas. I was them to be screen accurate, and at this stage, my money would be on TransArt to do it better justice.

While we're on the subject, little tweaks that could be fixed:

Megatron Dragon: Make the dragon neck poseable.
Tigerhawk: Get rid of all the spring-loaded gimmicks.
Rampage: Mount the crab legs on the shell, rather than the arms.
Depth Charge: Create a better firing mechanism so as to tidy up his back in robot-mode.

If they tackle TM2 Megatron next I hope they'll make him the same size as Optimal Optimus.

I like the idea of TranArt beast wars figures basically fixing the original figures. TM2 Megatron and Tigerhawk would be instant buys, and honestly so would Depthcharge and Rampage. If they could upscale and fix Dinobot 2 while they're at it TransArt would become my new favorite third party.

Okay, I took a break from the forums for a few days. I just got really frustrated.

    This looks really good.

Also, I will say this calmly, since I got kinds pissy last time. The writers and animators on the BW cartoon intentionally broke scale in every scene with the G1 crew. They wanted to give the G1 guys a larger than life sense. And it worked! It just screwed up internet discussions 20 years later. I don't understand why this is so hard to understand.

    Much love! ^-^

Who cares how they scale with G1 honestly. I don't really care about scale at all, but they should be scaled to work with other beast wars characters. Both 3p Optimals looks like they're in scale with the current Rhinox who is probably our best view for a bw display scale.

This OpOp is almost half the size of the other OpOp. So they can't both be in scale with Rhinox. :)
