Howdy folks! The wife and I just got back from our trip to Toys 'R' Us in Kawasaki/Yokohama, and I was fortunate enough to score a Trans Scanning Optimus Prime. I figure a lot of you may still be skeptical on the toy, but lemme tell you, this is one bad***figure!

Believe me when I tell you that this is far from a shell-former. Transforming Prime from robot mode to vehicle mode - yes, he DOES transform - was actually a lot more difficult than I had expected it to be. Granted, the pieces and parts don't fit as tightly as you'd like them to (think something akin to an Alternator's hood not wanting to rest flush with the fenders or body), but it's honestly not a bad toy. The engineering behind it is very impressive.

Oh, and before I forget! If you buy one, be careful not to crush the little knee pegs that adorn Prime's robot mode armor. It took me all of .02 seconds to break it off as I was trying to fit the protoform leg inside. Other than that, no problems... (thank God for super glue...)

    Anyway, on with the pictures!

Heh, sorry for the overdose of Protoform/Core pics... I was just mesmerized by the articulation. :)  Oh, and I wasn't entirely sure where a thread like this should go, so if it needs to be moved, well then... so be it. Sorry Mods. Hope you guys enjoy. If more pictures are requested, just let me know. :)

Very cool, though the Protoform mode makes him look as if he's doing bad things to himself. Meh, kudos to him for being able ^^

I actually look forward to the figure.

An interesting figure, thanks for the photos. The concept is quite similar to that of Bandai' Soul of Chogokin SPEC Evas and Souchaku Henshin line. If I were even remotely interested in the movie characters and designs (which Im not) I would definatly pick one of these up just out of curiousity, I love modular armour up figures like this.

Wow, man--great photos. I'm impressed with this figure, actually--not sure if I'll ever get a chance to snatch him up, though...He looks better in both robot and alt forms than I'd have expected. But what's up with the iron man orb thingy on his chest?

This is my all time #1 hardest to transform figure ever. I'm not even going to get him out of car mode ever. EVER

Do the giant shoulder & leg kibble come off, leaving the other arm/chest/leg parts on?

I'm with you, Diablien. This guy was a freaking challenge to transform. And for such a little guy, too! Crazy stuff.

I'm still pretty stoked I picked up the figure, and in my glee snapped a few more photos - one that should also provide a decent sense of scale for this figure. Enjoy!

And yes, the large sections (the 'backpack', and leg sections) do come off. Gimme a sec and I'll take another picture.

Another nifty little feature I have found is that the cab doors open and close in vehicle mode, just like a real truck! Pretty sweet!!
