Trailers help exploit a new movie coming out, obviously. But what trailers make the movie look like an annoying waste of Human life and resources?

For me, if I hear the goddamn polka-dot afro song for Madagascar 3 one more time, I'm burning down an orphanage.

I'm sure I'll take crap for this, but the trailers for The Dark Knight Rises have totally turned me off from wanting to see this movie.Nothing about it impresses me.

For me it's the excessive showing of trailers. Prometheus ads are one every commercial break and I couldn't give two shits about that movie. Alien was boring as hell.

I always never liked the Thor trailers for some reason, though the movie was okay.

The super 8 trailer, it starts off nice then just turns into a mess of bad editing. However the movie is one of my favourites.

John Carter's trailer seemed to want people to not see the movie.

I saw it anyway, and thought it was really good. It's a wonder why Disney had no idea how to market it.

Because they were fucking morons. Seriously, its about a cowboy, who goes to Mars, finds that while there he has superpowers, befriends green four armed Martians, falls in love with the Princess of Mars and wages an epic battle to defeat her enemies........I could market that.

I agree with you on this, the trailers have been very lackluster

For me, it's Tangled. I really didn't like the trailer when I first saw it in theatres. Thankfully, I found myself really loving the movie once I got myself to see it while my brother went to see The King's Speech. So in the end, it's all good. :D

The Battleship trailers made the movie look as bad as it was. Any comedy trailer that isn't funny.
    Get out.

Practically every horror movie trailer makes their movie look like the same generic dreck.

Most trailers for animated kids movies. The trailers usually make them look campy and really cheesy but when I read the reviews for some of them it's positive.

Prometheus is not Alien, even though it's by the same director. The two films are 33 years apart.

I used to think Alien was boring too, especially compared to Aliens but after watching it again on blu-ray, I've gained a new appreciation for it. It's now one of my top sci-fi flicks.

I thought Bait had a pretty bad trailer. I actually enjoyed that movie quite a bit.

All the commercials for Brave paint it as something where everyone is screaming and loud and crazy all the time. But since it's Pixar I know that it'll really tear your heart out and stomp on it, making you contemplate hanging yourself right there in the theater out of pure sorrow.

Alien is a lot heavier, it had groundbreaking design, not to mention it's work on reinvisioning the horror genre. It had that old school horror vibe - the fear of unknown, that you know something is there, you can feel it in your gut but you can't see it, you don't know if it sees you and you are terrified because you simply don't know it but at the same time intorducing us to some of the gories and sickest scene ever put on video up to that point. People were throwing up in cinemas watching the chest buster scene man!

Aliens on the other hand, at least to me, always seem like a watered down version of Alien as it was focusing more on the action and spectacle so most people prefed it because it was easier to digest and get into.

To me Alien is a masterpiece of Science fiction horror, and I'm really sad to see that that genre is dieing :(
