A small observation Ive had with recent fiilms, Is that Both Trailers and TV spots show a certain scenes that play major parts in the actual movie. Possibly ruining the twist Example: Prometheus-
The Derelict crashing(seen in tv spots and trailers), Prometheus crashing into the the derelict(seen in tv spots and trailers)
, Transformers Dark of the Moon -
Shockwave being murdered ( Tv spots. Is this even considered a spoiler? Everyone on this site is bound to have watched this already), The Space bridge opening, Cybertron?
    , The Avengers -
Hulk catching Iron man after launching the nuke into Chitauri space

It's a small annoyance but it might ruin someone elses experience. Thoughts?

Well, tv spots and trailer are suppose to catch people and they need to show this stuff so everyone goes "Woah!! what?!?! Cool!!!" or "What is tha!?? Gotta see this and find out!!". Besides, these days they do put "Spoiler alert" in the online videos so one is warned when it about to download those.
In tv is more difficult but its just matter of turning your head away. ^^'

Not so much in action movies usually, but often they show all the good jokes in comedy ones and as such the movie isn't funny.

like the scene is singing the circus song using 'circus', 'afro' and 'pokadot'.

thanks for giving away the funniest part of the film. now i have no reason to see it.

Using the Avengers one as an example, you did not until seeing the movie that that scene took place when it did. It could have been earlier in the fight, maybe he was shot down or something. Sometimes trailers are all about context, and without seeing the movie, that clip was way out of context.

Pffft. Not much beats trailers like the ones for Mission to Mars and The Double which both have twist endings that are completely and utterly spelled out clearly in the trailer.

    it can and it can't.
ok so stuff in trailers isn't shown in order so you never know in what context it is being shown (I haven't seen Prometheus yet but maybe
ship crashing is in a dream sequence or something
    )
Also there are shot that I am waiting for that never happen in the movie. Take Snow White and the Huntsman for example in the trailers there is this great shot of
Charlize Theron screaming her head off while the mirror breaks around her
but it never happens in the movie. I was totally waiting for it and expecting it at the end, but it never happened so it can...and it can't
