I had no idea what this was when my buddy gave me all the eps on DVD for my birthday - it's frikin' hilarious. Canadian TV sure does have some comedy gems. Watching the drunken foul-mouthed exploits of ex-cons living a trailer park is great. I never realized that Canada had similar white trash to the US.

    Anybody else like this show?

So do they go back to jail at the end of every season? The season 2 disc he gave me didn't work, so I skipped right to season 3 guessing that's what probably happens - sure enough, it was like I didn't miss anything. :lol

^Yep. The first 3 seasons start with Ricky and Julian getting parloed and end with them going back to "con college with a full scholarship."

White trash is white trash. I grew up with people like the TPB cast. ;)  And went to school woth some of the cast.  They didn't live in actual trailers though. Didn't see many of them till I moved to the sub-urbs.

    Some things to watch for
-Ellen Paige plays Jim Lahey's daughter.
-The ATM heist is based on real events (so the old man tells me).
-All the real trailer parks they filmed in are hidden in urban areas.

    That's cool.

When I first started watching it, I thought the whole "let's get fucking drunk" thing would get old - it hasn't. I laughed my ass off at the beginning of season 3 when Ricky was standing on top of his old car (that he was going to set on fire) shouting to the park on a bullhorn about how seriously fucked up he was going to get that night. Instant classic.

I feel dumb that I've never heard of this show before.

I've been watching this show since the 2nd or 3rd season. It's like Beachcombers for the current generation. Great show. The movie was so-so, and Season 7 wasn't the greatest without Cory and Trevor, but overall it's funny shit.

Does that mean you've never heard of the Ivan Reitman produced movie either?

It's funny seeying this thread, since to most Canadians, TPB is so "3 years ago". LoL

I haven't watched an episode since season 4.

I've seen it, I was disappointed. It wasn't nearly as funny as it should have been.

    Yeah, I agree.

They tried to reach a wider audience & missed the boat in some places.

I just finished watching Seasons 6 & 7 this past weekend & had to stop in some places my sides were hurting so bad from laughing. :lol

"Going off the rails on a Swayze Train" LMFAO!!!

I just located the Christmas special yesterday, I will be watching it tonight. I think that it's the last official episode that I haven't seen.

Somebody told me about the pre-series movie, with all the same people but in different roles. Ever seen it?

Seen some of it. The guy who plays Randy is the 3rd member of the trio, and there is no Randy or Bubbles. It's also in B&W.

Bubbles has an interesting origin. The guy who plays him, Mike Smith, started out on the show as a sound guy. Bubbles was a character he did in between takes for a laugh. The shows creator and EP saw Bubbles and worked him into the show.
