Trailbreaker started with two key ingredients. A 1/32 scale Toyota Pickup with camper model kit and an animated ratchet. The head is from alternator's swindle. The shoulders are cast off of g1 trailbreaker. The Forearms are off a KO hero megatron. The shoulder canon, complements of universe prowl. The hand is an alternators casting by Ptitvite (awesome). The shooter hand is a g1 TB missile. The waist and legs came from excellion. Knee pads were cast off g1 tb. Scratchbuilding here and there. The force field is half of a dome with clear piping as a handle. I can't remember the toy line the dome came from but it involved dragons. The decals I designed and made myself except for the white stripes, the 4WDs, the arizona license plate and two of the bumper stickers were printed my Boggs6ft7 (also awesome). Paints are duplicolor for the alt mode and model master enamels for the rest. Future finish is the clear coat. Jaf's masterpiece trailbreaker was a huge influence in getting me bashing and I went back to his pics a lot for this. Spoonman's current TB project kept me on it. Big thanks to them both! Thanks for looking guys. here's the follow along thread a friend of mine at s70 mentioned something about the gaps by the front of the doors and roof. this was my response. "Yep. those areas bugged me for weeks. and still do. I sanded away on the inside of the doors for a while to fix the door issue but when it comes down to it there's just too much robot inside that vehicle. He's taller than a lot of standard voyagers but fits in a pretty small deluxe car. the head is pushing up on the roof because it's spring loaded. after messing with it for more than I wanted to, i caved and started painting it. Basically, I have too many projects to get to. I chalked this up to lessons learned." cheers guys
Beautiful work, Ninos! The things already mentioned are the only things I see fault in (and even then, it's not bad enough to worry about really). I love how the reshell turned out and that force field works great! What did you use for that? The work you put into this is great and as you know, I'm a huge fan highly detailed work--especially on these deluxe figures you do. The height fits right in with the others and it looks great standing with the gang in that group shot. You continue to inspire, my friend! Keep 'em coming!
^^Ditto with hXcpunk23. Gorgeous work, Ninos, really all around great job. Group shot is the best, seeing in scale with your previous awesome work. I can't wait to get started working with you, bro.
pphheeeewwwwiiittttt!!!!!!!! AND THATS WHAT WE CALLED "THE REAL TRANSFORMERS CUSTOM" IS ALL ABOUT... im quite confuse about the TB head visor ...some of custom follow red and some blue...any explaination on this Ninos.. edited h yah...you grab my attention by that superb GIF pics as usual...
Holy Sh#t! That is one hell of a sweet-ass Trailbreaker! The new body, the detailing, the paintjob... & the height (that's an iGear MP right?). The slightly-misaligned panels don't bother me at all . That is some top-notch work Mate!
wj thats was my second TF(my first was soundwave) your representation of TB is so amazing.that i can find any superlatives that will describe the pure awesomness of this bash. the animated ratchet is barely visable ,so does the gaps . the paint job ,decals ,the casted G1 parts make this one ,one of my favorite ever.
This is simply fantastic. I love how you kitbashed so many things together and made it flow so well. Goodness sakes, I hope you fix the gap on the doors! /jk GREAT work buddy, great work
I prefer the original head and visor color of the original but everything else is a massive improvement. Quality stuff.
Flaws? What flaws? I don't see any flaws at all! The decals are perfect, the mix of parts is perfect, and everything comes together so subtly and naturally. Sweet to finally see this one finished. This is what a transformer should look like.
Trailbreaker is the first Transformer I ever owned and you've certainly done him justice. Excellent work!!!
That is so darn purty!! There's no way I could tell that was made from an animated toy to start!! AMAZING
