interesting... The Dillingers vs the son of Flynn and old-school ENCOM. I wonder if this means Flynn Lives?
According to antovolk on YouTube this is "the first of the 2 fabled TR3N (TRON 3) teaser videos. This one is titled "The Next Day", and is an official exclusive extra from the TRON: Legacy Blu-Ray. It explains the origins of the Flynn Lives organisation (who ran the ARG) and who was in charge of it, and what happens after Sam decides to take over ENCOM at the end of TRON: Legacy! Featuring the fabled scene with Dan Shor as Ram and Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley. The second TRON 3 teaser is reportedly a hidden Easter Egg in the DVD/Blu-Ray and will reportedly feature Olivia Wilde as Quorra and Cillian Murphy as Ed Dillinger Jr."
I was pretty underwhelmed by the recent Tron flick, but that was still cool. Nice to see RAM again. Bring on the one with Olivia Wilde!
Someone who supposedly worked for the shooting of the rumored sequel to Tron:Legacy contacted the website Ain'tItCoolNews on January 13, 2011 mentioning details about 3 scenes that would be included in the teaser trailer for TR3N: The first is between Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley, and Dan Shor reprising his role as Ram from the original 1982 Tron. Apparently Shor's character ran the "Flynn Lives" campaign and is destroying the relevant data and files when Alan finds him. Shor quips, "Why did Kevin give you the cool name?" The second features Olivia Wilde as Quorra. She rides up to ENCOM on Sam's Ducati and causes a stir when she reveals to the swarming press that she spoke to Kevin Flynn. The third is the simplest — just text on screens — but perhaps the most loaded. Edward Dillinger Jr (played by Cillian Murphy in Tron: Legacy) and father Ed Dillinger (played by David Warner in the original Tron) enigmatically discuss how everything is coming together as they planned. On January 21, 2011, Tron-Sector reported an unsourced rumor that a sequel to Tron: Legacy has been green-lit and a teaser trailer will debut on the DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Tron and Tron: Legacy.
If done right I'd see Tron 3. For tron 3 I want to see more of Tron. Though we apparently will in the cartoon.
No, i'm referring to the actual title. Legacy was announced as TR2N, which was pretty universally lambasted. I love the Tron franchise, and can't wait to see the other goodies on the blu-ray. Especially the ridiculously awesome 5 disc Identity disc edition... oh yes, you will be mine.
It never actually shows a "TR3N" logo in the video. It's just in the poster's message. It's probably not official. On a visual level, though, I think the "TR2N" logo worked.
Son I am disappoint. Anyway. Man, misty eyed again.. I am getting old I guess I guess it's only right in the end the true villian would be they whom started the cycle. The circle completes. It was painfully obvious that Jr was not there just for a cameo or else it would have been some nameless schmuck. I just hope in the end of 3 (providing Quorra and Sam stayed together) we get to see something truly amazing from their Son/Daughter, like maybe to go in the grid and pull Kevin back out of the woodwork. Just hope they don't pull the same mistake they did with Legacy and have so much of the story in media outside of the movie, if there was anything that hurt Legacy is was all the comics and games you had to research before going to watch it to have any emotional response to half of what was going on. Speaking of Bit they have a Bit app on the Droid Market, tap the screen and he says yes and no, its pretty sweet
I would have liked this even less if it had been made without the Daft Punk soundtrack. It's a good thing they chose some great tracks for this short, otherwise it just wouldn't have been the same. Tron doesn't feel like Tron anymore without their brand of techno/orchestral music. It's the best thing to come out of Legacy in my opinion. Aside from that, I think it's a nice tease for whatever comes next.
