As a whole, I like Scourge, but that bugger needed paint as much as CW Wheeljack! All it took was some gunmetal, and a little black for his mustache I tried doing a panel wash for most of him, finished up with my usual pens. Now he's ready to hang with Galvatron whenever I get around to painting him up.
I did a panel wash on his face, arms, abs, and some of his alt mode using Citadel Nuln Oil (it's a really thin, water based black that I lightly brushed over the areas to pick up the details), then I used Micron pens (.005 in Black) on the rest of his panel lines. I used Pledge Multisurface Floorcare (an acrylic floor wax, used to be called Future Floor wax years ago) mixed 4:1 with Tamiya Flat Base to get a matte finish on him (applied with a brush after I did the panel wash, but before using the pens so they wouldn't smear on me).
I myself have gone off complete custom paint jobs and rather neat touch ups that bring out the best in a toy while keeping it a toy, but holy hell dude you knocked this outa the ballpark
I painted the thighs by hand with 2 coats of Tamiya Gunmetal paint, thinned about 2:1 (paint:91% isopropyl alcohol), then I brushed on a matte topcoat I made (1 part Tamiya flat base, 4 parts Pledge / Future). I love Tamiya Gunmetal and use it wherever I can, it always comes out with that really nice dark metal, kinda weathered finish.
I painted my beard too. I'm on the fence about coloring the eyebrows though. I see you didn't paint the eyebrows on yours.
Oh dang, I didn't realize he actually HAD eyebrows until your comment. Now I can't un-see them. I'm gonna have to fix that!
Added in eyebrows, omg best decision And Fracas, panel lined, and I think I did a panel wash on his face
