Awesome, I'm totally into it. Now I will have a proper Masterforce Overlord to go with God Ginrai in the right scale (I would have gotten MMC Carnifex but he's simply too IDW-inspired to fit in my display).

Probably gonna get this depending on the price. If both Overlord and the kit are less than MMC's with the G1 kit, then I'll jump on this. I want a proper, G1 style Overlord, but I also want articulation and as much variety from Sky Shadow as possible.

It'd probably be cheaper overall, since you wouldn't have to buy the $50-60 TR Leader on top of this.

    What a pointless upgrade set.

I'm kind of torn. On the one hand, I get what they're going for (make Overlord the "right" height to match up against LG God Ginrai, keep the TR aesthetic so he "goes" w/Ginrai), but they're adding so much other stuff on it doesn't seem quite worth the effort. If they can somehow keep this in the $60-70 range, it'll probably be worth it to me, but that seems unlikely

If they had redone it completely, you could have gotten working ab guns as well.

The legs look like upsized ko of tr overlords legs and seem to transform the same way. Definite buy even though i have carnifex and his g1ized tits upgrade.

I wish they'd done something that modified the original tank/legs instead. I'm not too thrilled at throwing away half a Leader figure for an upgrade set - especially since I'm planning to get the Takara version.

i don't get this. the amount of TR parts you need to replace is bordering on the ridiculous. Why not just make a whole full figure? why stop at just that upper torso?

I like that basemode a lot. Bot Fans Hobby's Double Evil is bigger.
    We'll see.

Because by the time this comes out people will already have tr overlord for months. Buy an $80 upgrade (guessing on price) or a $150 figure?

I would pick the $150 figure. It doesn't make sense to spend more on upgrades than the original hasbro toy. The magnitude of changes made here basically require u to cannibalise and/or discard most of the original toy, so what's the point really?

The set look really good and cool but how much is the set going to set you back. I really like it myself and am interested in it a little to see how it all works. I really hope it's not that bad in cost to get it since I have the Hasbro figure coming in.

Many would take the upgrade for several reasons

1: $80 is easier to pay one time than $150 is, regardless of total cost. It's the same reason there are monthly payments for stuff like Xbox live

2: upgrade kits, especially extensive ones will always cost more than the figures, hell hands and feet for the combiner wars combiners cost more than a voyager

3: some people like to support official figures

4: some people like making their collection more individual, upgrading official figures helps to this end

Cool way to not only help make TR Overlord look more different from TR Sky Shadow but to also solve the scaling issue TR Overlord has with Legends God Ginrai. :)

Funny, I was going to ask if anyone knew if there were plans for an Overlord upgrade kit. Although, my one complaint is that I was really hoping for a kit that gave him a more IDW style helmet. Still, the size upgrade looks pretty cool. I may get this once I see the colors since I'm planning to get the Takara version.

Would have been nice if they found some way to incorporate the original tank, kind of like a powered up version to match super Ginrai better. I do like the abcrunch
