This is barely a custom at all, but hey, I drilled a hole and snipped a peg. That counts, right? Anyway! Armada Sideswipe is one of the crummiest deluxe TF toys of the 21st century, I think. However, it did at least yield us a cool gun when it was used as the 2005 Cybertron Runamuck toy. And man, does this gun look good with Titans Return Hot Rod. Modifications were minimal. I drilled a 5mm hole in the car's roof -- the short, fold-out peg fits into it securely, attaching the gun in vehicle mode. For robot mode, I keep the peg folded in and use a length of 5mm plastic tubing which is inserted into the 5mm port in the gun's back/underside and gripped by Hot Rod in robot mode. (When in vehicle mode, I just toss the peg into the cockpit with Firedrive.) TM Hot Rod's original gun/guns will go to some other toy to allow it to better make use of Titanmasters. Because, hey, Hot Rod doesn't need an extra Titanmaster seat, and damn does Cybertron Runamuck's gun work well with this figure!
I love this! I'd do this myself, but I doubt I'd be able to find the gun solo online, and I sure as hell wouldn't want the figure it comes with. That works really nicely though.
Yeah, I felt the same way. I was super lucky -- I bought a mixed lot of Transformers guns offa eBay, and this was one of them. I practically squeed with delight when I saw it.
I know, right? I was really lucky to get my greedy little mitts on that gun. Thanx man! Gotta love the qucik-'n-easy ones.
This is great! Now I kinda want to see this with Animated Lockdown's engine/gun on Rodders in the same capacity.
Yeah, it sits a bit too tall/high. But hey, thanx for seeing what it would look like/attempting it at least..
No prob! It does make me want to investigate a few other weapons -- the Axelerators had gun-engines, as did the Alternators. I bet there are a few spiffy gun-engines that could work.
