I recently secured a TR Galvatron. Unfortunately he's got a load of problems, such as a left pelvic joint that can't grip anything and a headmaster that doesn't lock in. However, my question concerns a problem that supposidely even GOOD TR Galvatrons have.

It seems that when I transform Galvatron into Cannon mode, his treads can't lay flat on a surface due to the ratchets inside his shoulders, it's CW Prime/Motormaster's legs all over again. It's the case with my friend's Galvatron and it's the same case with the one I own. Kind of surprised I hadn't heard about this along with the other issues reported with TR Galvatron. Is there any known fix for this situation?

I don't think it's an issue. Can you post pics of the problem? Might help clarify what you're trying to convey. The treads are meant to be in A-stance and the outwards shoulder ratchets should be lined up. I haven't seen that issue on anyone else's, so it could just be that you got a lemon with off-kilter shoulder ratchets.

Closest I can get it, but they don't sit flat.

I agree they could have done this better. But the whole arm assembly including the shoulderpads should have been done differently:
The shoulderpads restrict the arms moving upward and the way the threads are stuck to the back of the arms you cant move the arms outward.

Not to mention between the shoulderpads and the oversized cannon, it's virtually impossible to articulate the arms if the cannon's attached to it, much less aim it.

This thing really is an engineering disaster across all points.

No it's not. It works exactly as intended, an update of G1 Glavatron's toy. Big ass cannon that clips onto the front of his arm with big ass treads on the back of the arms and all.

And you have to move the shoulder pads to articulate his shoulder.

Yes, this toy that needs a shapeways upgrade for you to be able to bend his elbow while the cannon is attached to its arm and who's head cannot turn because of the helmet gimmick has no design flaws.
I love the character and its a nice toy of him looking at it, but i want to handle the toy, i want to pose it, and the articulation needed to do this is hindered in quit a few instances because of things that could have been done better.

Huh, mine has no issues besides the titan master gimmick looking crappy. A custom head I made fixed that though. I don't transform him much but didn't really have those issues

Hmm, very odd indeed. It seems you have a lemon, my friend. I haven't seen or heard of others doing that and mine certainly doesn't.

Mines the same way, but it doesn't bother me all that much... They sit flat enough for me.
