Sounds good! The parts are expensive. I ended up buying a complete used Encore Max for about $230 shipped and taking the parts from it. I'm selling the head, box, insert, body and spike to try to make up for some of the costs.

One piece of advice when fitting the parts. Make sure to fit everything up before complete assembly. What I mean is take the pins and make sure they fit before attaching them to the shoulder. Don't force anything because the plastic breaks easier than regular plastic. If the pin is too tight, reem it out with a 1/16" drill bit and test it. The pin should move through snuggly to easily. You should not fight it. Also put the tabs of the adapter on a flat surface when you try the pins out. If there isn't a backing the pins could snap. Also if the adapter fits too tightly with the shoulder, shave a little off with an x-acto blade. Again this is so there is no excessive force. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing it done.

    Noted.

I have an automatic pin punch.....I plan on using that to remove the pin, and then again to push the final push when reinserting it. Good?

That should be fine as long as you can go slow and steady. Enjoy!

I got my ramps today, gonna start whitening them up and getting ready for the swap! Just waiting on your Shapeways parts. :)

So, when it comes to removing the existing ramps after disassembling the arm/shoulder, how easy are those ramp pins to remove? Do they require a good stiff pin puncher? Or do they easily slide out with some light pressure from one side?

....and I'd imagine those are the same pins I'm using to reassemble, right?

    Also...

Explain this part to me one more time...not sure I completely understand what you mean.

What paint did you use for the bits around the leg cannons?

To remove the pins, you have to push it from the inside out. They come out with very light pressure. I used a flat head screwdriver to push it out a little and then pliers to pull them out the rest of the way.

As far as the supporting connector, all I'm saying is to not try to force the pin through without any backing to support it. If you don't the connector pin slot could break off due to it being 3D printed. I tried the pins without installing them first to make sure the pins fit without too much force. If they didn't slide as smoothly as the original ramps I reemed it with a 1/16 inch drill bit until it moved smoothly. Don't over reem it or the pin will fall out.

If there's anything else just ask. Good luck and enjoy.

Wow, this is how STUPID I am: when I saw the first two images I thought, "why is he just posting pictures of the original G1 toy?!"

(On the flip side, this is how AWESOME your work is.)

Thanks! That's exactly what I was aiming for. I want more of a masterpiece than a reimagining. Glad you enjoyed it.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing it. Also I'm working on adapters for your left-over ramps. I should be done in the next day or two. You be able to attach them to another fort max and have long ramps but with the new titans ramps. I want to tweet them a bit before I post. Keep me posted.

    DONE!

YOU my friend, are a frigin' genius. Sincerely.

I can't believe how effective and perfect this simple piece of 3D printed plastic is!

It wasn't without its pain in the balls however, especially the reassembly of the shoulders.

Question: Can I super glue these new ramps into the grooves of the 3D printed piece? This is my permanent setup, so I thought I'd do away with the occasional wiggle and once or twice falling off when moved.

I guess that would work, right?

That would work, but it would be pretty permanent. You could always drill a small hole through the adapter and ramp. Then attach them with a small screw. This way there will be no chance of falling off but not be so permanent.

You're welcome! I'm glad you like them. It looks great. I also like how you're displaying the city mode. Also is that a Jetfire gun on the ramp? Lots of ideas with that city mode.
