Over here it's a grey rainy day. My tooth hurts like hell. Presidential campaign is the worst shitfest I've ever seen since summer 91 with my cousins me and my kid brother in the same caravan. And post office does not know where's my package at.
But suddendly none of that matter. At all. I'm actually very happy.

Just received my Velocitron set earlier today. Very happy that it arrived in Japan A-OK!

Opened the box and was glad that everything seemed to be where it's supposed to be, with nothing missing or broken. Only had a chance to take out Nautica and transform her, and I really like her! The Blurr mold suits her character very well (need to give her some sort of wrench and blue visor).

Have her posed next to Takara Skids and they look good together, though I do find it amusing that Nautica stands taller (thanks to the Headmaster gimmick) and seems to have a slightly larger silhouette than he does.

Will mess with the other figures more tomorrow!

...is there any consensus on whether die-cast rodimus prime is a better match for hasbro titans return vs. takara legends hot rod?..

Snaps of the Chaos on Velocitron set, guest-starring Takara LG Skids! Really dig this set and will definitely try to pick up the other (possible) three!

Nautica is the winner of this set for me. No QC issues at all with her.

Quickswitch is pretty much a straight up repaint of Sixshot but having both in hand, I really like the mold; they're big and they're loud (color wise). I just wish the ankle tilt wasn't so far apart with its spacing. Getting the feet to stand at a natural angle without the feet simply whipping back straight/flush with the lower leg is a pain.

Little Rodimus is cool but, white paint apps on the face is a little haphazard, while his tiny arms and neck joints are waaaaay too tight.

Fastlane is decent, but kinda no frills, to be honest. Alt mode is a big whatever, and his bot mode is a bit stumpy. No guns or accessories either aside from his detachable spoiler. Not worth the price of admission alone.

Laser Prime... I was expecting to hate this guy and sell him off (since he always looks so weird and awkward with his odd proportions and colors in photos) but now that I have him in hand, I kinda like him, which is surprising. This is my first time with the mold but somehow the colors work, even the light baby blues. The stickers on the tanker portion of him suck, of course, but they're out of sight in bot mode anyway.

Overall, great set and I'm glad I picked this up before it sold out!

Fastlane looks way to squat to my liking. Would have preffered him leaner even if he was the same size.

The spoiler is detachable? Good to know. I really don't like the idea of a Transformer figure with a huge spoiler sticking out of the back of his head, even if it is 'traditional'. I guess I will be looking out for the Clones (hopefully Takara comes up with something).

The spoiler is detachable, but the bar in the back of his head (that the spoiler connects to) is not.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll see how the Decepticon Clones turn out.

Losing the "extend the legs out" step of the G1 version's transformation really does make TR Fastlane feel even shorter than he already is.

Thanks! No, he's not part of the set but I included him just as a comparison between a Classics non-Headmaster Deluxe mold and a Titans Return Headmaster Deluxe mold. That and Skids and Nautica shared a dance scene together from the IDW comics. :D

Yeah. They really should have included a leg extension for his transformation. As it stands, he looks like a short guy who lifts weights at the gym. Fastlane? More like Shortstack. :lol

Yup, what he said. The rod coming out the back of his head does limit the articulation of the neck swivel somewhat.
